Does deezer actually work

I signed up to deezer free accout,  started to play a CD on my PC which totally froze after just 5 minutes. I would just like to ask the question, does deezer actually work ?

Hello @Michael Honnor ,

Were you hoping to familiarize yourself with how deezer works, or streaming services in general?

Hi thanks very much for your reply. I have been using music streaming services for the past twenty years. I thought that I would try deezer but I can’t get it to work longer than 5 minutes. So I guess that I was hoping to familiarize myself with how deezer works or find out if it does not work.

Do you live in a country where a free Deezer account is actually available, or do you use a VPN service perhaps? For example U.S. citizens never had access to a free account like elsewhere.

Or do you have a free trial of e.g. the Premium offer with HiFi included and try to stream in that audio quality? Sometimes the lossless FLAC streams are broken, and the playback will stop then. Which album did you try to stream, by the way?

I have absolutely no idea if I live in a country where a free Deezer account is actually available or not, I live in the UK. How do I find this out ?

deezer Free is offered in UK. 😎

And since this is arguably a free account, those are the usual limitations that come with such a free/advertised offering.

Right, the third track “Pistoleros” is definitely broken with HiFi audio quality, takes too long to start and then is interrupted every few seconds. Skipping through it with the progress bar at the bottom does not help either, but starting the next track will work again.

I will check with the audio quality setting for free users at 128kbps MP3 again, but I guess the distributor of the album delivered it broken to Deezer. You can report such problems in the web player with the dropdown menu of the track, by the way.

OK, at that setting it will play without problems, so I guess you rather have a free trial for a Premium account including HiFi and not a free account. You can check this here:
