Deezer windows app stops playing song when not in foreground

Hello there! I’m about to report an issue I have with my Deezer app on windows (desktop app).

Sometimes when Deezer is minimized/hidden and I’m doing demanding tasks (CPU load is high), Deezer will stop playing music. To resume I have to “just” maximize Deezer window - don’t need to click any buttons - and the app will resume playing music.

Is this behavior intended for Deezer? I’m glad it’s not taking all my CPU for himself, but is there a way to fix this behavior so it does not stop playing music in random moments?

Are you using the Deezer app from the Windows Store?

If so, uninstall it and download it from the official Deezer download site. It's actually a good idea, even if it is the official version.

Beyond that, I can only recommend that you optimize your computer's resources to avoid problems with other software.

Hello @MarcinDaniel

This is a problem with your PC: insufficient RAM, a slow processor, or an overload of resources being used simultaneously. Deezer works correctly under normal computer usage conditions.

Please contact support so they can help you with the problem on your PC, detailing the issue as well as the brand and model of your device and the app and operating system versions. You can do this using the Deezer contact form: https://support.deezer.com/hc/en/requests/new

Best regards, and may the music keep flowing.

I understand your replay as I'm working with computers on daily basis, and its always tempting to ask people to get better gear. This pushes all worries away and lets us believe there's nothing wrong on our end. And there's a lot of freedom with deciding what is "normal usage conditions", so again - it's very easy and tempting to pick this argument.

I can confirm I'm pushing limits of my laptops. It's a Dell with pretty decent hardware, 64 GB of RAM but no external GPU, unfortunately. Nothing old and rusty. But I'm doing website programming which happens to consume all the CPU sometimes.

What makes me curious is a fact that Spotify runs with no such issues. I believe that Spotify also slows down my PC noticable, when Deezer does not do that. Point to Deezer for this :)

I'm not planning on going back to Spotify as they are much worst company, morally speaking. That's why I hope my feedback will be considered and taken seriously.

Before I decided to share my experience I've seen some posts of people complaining about the same thing. I believe I'm not the only one.

Starting support request is a good idea. I will do that, but first I will gather more data, not only from the work PC I was talking about here, but also from my gaming PC and phone. Thank you for the suggestion.
