Deezer will not cast to Chromecast device: loading, almost there

When i click the Cast icon I get the “casting” tone on my Chromecast speaker and get a message on my device that says, “Loading… Almost there, only a few seconds left.”  That’s it.  Nothing more.  Every other application where Chromecast is an option works flawlessly.  I love the HiFi but this is a non-starter for me.  Using Deezer over bluetooth to headphones is all I can use.  That’s not enough.

Using Android version 10, security patch level: March 5,2020 on a Pixel 3a XL

Chromecast works on the competition: Spotify, LiveXLive, Amazon Prime Music, Google Play Music, Tidal and Pandora.

    I had the same problem. The workaround I've found is cast audio with Google home.

    under settings, try clearing the cache, then logging out of the app, restarting your phone and then logging back in.

      This is the exact issue I have had across MANY versions.  Uninstalling, clearing cache/data, restarting, etc does nothing.  I’ve tried casting to Insigina Google Assistant devices and a Google Home Mini.

        It could be that our integration isn't working properly with the devices you mentioned. Could you please give us a bit more detail so that I can look into it?
        For the Google Home device, I can tell you that casting isn't yet enabled. But we're working on it :wink:

        Also, please let me know which app version you've got.

          Right now on 6.1.23.93, but like I’ve said this hasn’t worked on many versions I’ve used.  So you think the issue is that casting to the Insignia GA devices or a Google Home Mini are not possible?

          Yes, it seems that both devices are Google Assistant-powered. That means that our integration isn't ready for casting to them yet. But we're working on it and once we get more details, we'll be sharing with our community.

          In the meantime, you can plug Deezer to the Mini as a normal skill/app :thumbsup_tone2:

            I’m not clear as to what the problem is… others are reporting being able to cast to Google Home Mini devices.

            I had no problems for ages, now it plays up all the time.

            I have no problems with iplayer, youtube and many other apps.

            I don’t want to cancel as I have playlists and favourites etc but surely there should be a fix for this?

            That is a lot of £11.99 s you are letting down.
