Is there a time frame for Deezer HIFI Heos support?

I am also happy that finally this got implemented after so many years!

Since today there is a HEOS update which integrates Deezer HiFi and Tidal Connect. First you need to update the HEOS App and afterwards run a firmware update to version 3.34.240. More here: https://support-uk.denon.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3832/~/latest-heos-app-and-firmware-update-available

I will test it the coming days …

Hi there,

I have been using Deezer for years, and have quite a big collection on it, but if this problem isn’t sorted out and I cannot play HIFI on my Marantz PM 7000N I will have to shift to other streaming services.

What I find sad is that other streaming services such as Qobuz have found a workaround, using UPNP/DLNA protocols that are supported by Marantz (using third party apps such as Bubble UPNP).

Could Deezer provide UPNP integration ? this  would be a viable workaround, which would not rely on Heos teams.

I am definitely on your side and position.
This stalemate is unbelievable.

Whoever keeps pushing this down the priority list, I have serious doubts he has commercial sense, pushing away the most premium tier of customers away, which will be very hard to reacquire.

Take my example, hifi subscriber of tidal for many years, also concurrently Spotify, probably Deezer hd catalogue was more extensive than tidal I just didn't have the willingness to explore other options when I had a half decent HD option. Tidal decided to exit my region so I started with Deezer, first issue, Android auto implementation troublesome, second issue heos hifi streaming non existent, maybe I am an outlier in the Deezer community but ideally hifi should be the niche you guys have a competitive edge in, what are the guys who are making the priority list waiting for to solidify their competitive edge, Spotify to launch HD so the top tier customers flock to them?

I've got Denon and Marantz receivers myself, but considering that the Deezer app has been pulled from Roku, which until very recently was the world's most popular streaming device, and that Android TV (the thing that replaced Roku at the top of the streaming device pile) doesn't have a HiFi option either I think Heos support will be a long way off, if ever. Probably after Spotify introduces a HiFi option. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that either...

Hello, unfortunately I don’t have any news about this, it is still not a priority. But I will keep pushing it forward.

What’s this now? I can’t believe what you state here now.

We were asked here in the forum months ago by Rudi to push for Deezer Hifi support on HEOS enabled devices via Denon & Marantz support as they need to update their App. It was also said that Deezer is pushing for that and supports them to realize it and you state now it’s still not a priority?!?

I myself contacted Denon, Marantz and Sound United and got finally the answer from Marantz Support at Sound United in July 2021 that they work hard to get it implemented during the next year. Half a year is over now and I expect you Deezer to give priority to this and check back from your side and provide us here with an update soon, because it should be easier for you as service provider to get an update then for us as users!

My 2 cents as a MA ND6006/PM8006 owner.

Airplay2 down samples flac AFAIK. So proper support is really needed and as a “premium” streamer it should be on top of your list to push for that, IMHO.

After long, very long waiting for Deezer and Denon/HEOS to solve the problem with Hi-Fi streaming through HEOS app (I have Denon DRA-800H receiver) I finally decided to solve the problem with subscription to TIDAL HI-Fi, and everything works fine with TIDAL… a little bit more expensive but smooth and without problems, with Wi-Fi streaming even through the same HEOS app. So, if somebody here (Deezer) really cares about us - Deezer Hi-Fi subscribers, than it will be no need to switch to some other streaming service, but… as I stated… after long, very long waiting… it was time to say goodbye to Deezer.

Jumping is as I have to set up a Heos system here shortly. I use the BluOs app natively in a Bluesound Node V3 and as well Airplay 2 to the Node. On my Cambridge/Kef system I cannot notice the difference in quality at most times, however I have not done objective measurements. As well, how many files in Deezer, or any other streaming service for that matter, are better than CD quality. In which case is there much lost when using Airplay 2? Diminishing returns when there are so many other factors at play in the listening environment.

I bought my HEOS to stream in HIFI and have stuck with Deezer for over 3 years waiting. I’m finally pulling the pin and have signed up with TIDAL, first a 3 months free trial and then the monthly subscription for HIFI is slightly cheaper than Deezer and no issues streaming HIFI. I’ve just finished transferring my playlists. So long DEEZER hello HIFI
