Chromecast from Deezer Desktop (Win10)

Would love to know why there's no Chromecast option on the Deezer Desktop app.
I realise that it's in Beta only, but is there a plan to include it?
I'm currently a Spotify (Premium) user and would be happy to change over to Deezer should there be the option to cast directly from the desktop app 🙂

Hi there @hnadj @Rob Igo

With our new integration, it isn't possible to cast from a desktop at the moment. But we're still planning around this.

So like Rob said, it is possible to cast, but with the previous integration - not the new one which is more stable :thumbsup_tone2:

Hey @Mummu @peliase

Thank you for your patience and comments.

I've chased our devs to see if there's a timeline on this. I'll get back once I've got a reply :thumbsup_tone2:

lack of this feature is extremely disappointing.

I switched to Spotify from GoogleMusic 4years ago; constant app updates and unforeseen glitches repeatedly reporting “offline” have finally made me jump the Spotify ship in search of an alternative that offers HiFi options.
YouTube Music is the worst concept to happen since the Zune infrastructure.
Tidal’s app interfaces and all -round feel is just plain uncomfortable, if not lacking.

Deezer, well,
I’m very impressed with what Deezer has to offer in terms of library & personaliz-ation and am currently running through the initial 3month trial.  But really, no option to Cast from the Windows app?!

Fingers crossed you guys figure out 21st-century app basics and can maintain your cool while customers continue to jump ship from your competition, just to hit this wall and begrudgingly continue their search for “the one”

pardon the preceding brevity.
it didn’t take long to find a pretty usable fix.

I’m certain it will work on Chrome though I’m using Brave, but it is similar to creating “Google app shortcuts” by:
selecting [menu>more tools>create shortcut] when on your Deezer HOME page in the browser.
name the shortcut(s) what you want. be certain to select [open as window]

the created shortcuts will be present on your desktop as well as in your Windows Start menu under [all apps>Brave apps] or what I would assume to be [all apps>Chrome apps] (all apps, rather than pinned tiles.)  execute any shortcut once and right click its icon in the taskbar and select [pin to taskbar] as there will not be a persistent tray icon.

the Chromecast icon will be present at the bottom between track progress bar and “repeat” icon.
works wonderfully.

not certain if this fix is already out, but rather than search I figured it would be easier to apologize and post my findings.
now re-curating my Spotify “liked songs” and similar playlists to Deezer.
tedious, but it’s an opportunity to revisit old favorites.  -DZR4EVA!

there is a glitch when using this workaround that will not allow user to add anything to "queue list" or to set anything to "play next"

-the currently playing track will skip (like CD skip) and restart at 0:00; or if nothing is actively playing, Deezer will re-initiate play of what was previously paused or even stopped.

kind of a bummer, and irritating, but not a total deal breaker

Hi @TNR :)

Have a look on the screenshot from the desktop app shared above for more info on how to find the Chromecast button.

Using the cast functionality from Google Chrome should be avoided if you want to enjoy your music. It has the browser decoding your music and sending that to the chromecast. Quality is bad and it will skip whenever your computer is doing some heavy work. I still don't see the chromecast icon in the windows app.

Reading back through all the comments from three years and see a lot of “soon” and “Thanks for patience” but it does appear the feature is never coming to desktop.

@Rudi please make it noted that this will be the reason I’ll leave the service, it's low priority for you but it's a key feature for people who don’t want to listen to their music (at HIFI quality) on laptop speakers.

I totally agree with this comment. 3 years for a feature that’s available elsewhere, with false promises in the way, is just not acceptable.

I just moved from spotify to deezer to try out the service again after having left years ago, and this will be exactly the reason that once the offer I got expires, I’ll go back (again) to Spotify...
