 Nippa

 

Ever heard about him?

Nippa is a UK artist known for merging R&B and rap, swiftly becoming a leading figure in the scene. He began turning heads with the release of self-titled debut EP “Nippa”, featuring the popular single ‘Situation’

This was just the beginning as he followed up with a series of successful singles like 'The One' and 'Reverse,' gaining recognition from industry heavyweights such as Bryson Tiller, Russ, and UK sensation Dave. He even landed a coveted spot on Jack Harlow's European tour.

Nippa's star continued to rise, featuring on Craig David's album "22" and closing out 2022 with his sophomore EP, 'Not A Statistic.'

Wonderland named him "The slickest man in R&B," while Dazed praised his EP for blending nostalgic R&B with hip-hop and trap elements. BBC championed him as one of their Hot 4 for 2023, catapulting Nippa to new heights.

His music, while rooted in classic 90s and 00s R&B, features a gritty, authentic style with touches of gospel and reggae.

Nippa visited us in our HQ in Paris and treated us with an exclusive Deezer Session performance of his latest single "Walk to Fame" including a cover of “Selfish” by Slum Village

I discovered artist 

SERA

Miracles do happen. Just imagine, you’re an unknown singer wanting to make a name for yourself. In 2020 you decide to post live covers of songs on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. You do this from the safe space of your car. Then, during one of your sessions, your main idol asks to join you on one of the songs.

This happened to SERA from the Dutch town of Sliedrecht. Her versions of Dua Lipa’s ‘IDGAF’ and Megan Trainer’s ‘NO’ went viral overnight with hundreds of thousands of views and lots of new followers. One of those followers was Justin Bieber. When he spotted SERA’s rendition of one of his songs on Instagram Live he decided to sing along with her. Only a little later she was asked to perform on Christiano Ronaldos birthday party. Before she knew it SERA was on a plane to Turin. That was her first live performance ever, singing only a few feet away from the world-famous footballer. Scary, for sure, but an incredible experience. “Right away I knew.

This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.” But SERA, a level-headed Dutch girl, kept her cool, even with her fanbase growing at lightning speed. One of her most popular videos, the Tones and I-cover Dance Monkey, amassed more than 30 million views. Because of that and all the raving reviews she received SERA decided to turn professional. She got in touch with producer and songwriter Bas van Daalen, who has worked with Major Lazer, David Guetta and J Balvin, and went to his studio to write her own material.
