See You on the Other Side is Korn’s seventh studio album, released on December 6, 2005, by Virgin Records. The record marked a sonic reinvention, incorporating industrial, electronic, and pop-rock influences, and was partially produced by The Matrix and Atticus Ross. It was the band’s first album without founding guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, who left the band for personal reasons, and the last one to feature original drummer David Silveria, recorded at Jonathan Davis’ home studio in Los Angeles between June and November 2005. Commercially, it was a success, debuting at number 3 on the Billboard 200 with over 220,000 copies sold in its first week, achieving platinum status in the U.S., and spawning radio hits such as “Twisted Transistor” (number 3 on Mainstream Rock), “Coming Undone” and “Politics”.

Originally, the album was not released as a double album, but as a single CD, with a special edition on 2 CDs (including bonus tracks and a DVD).

Singles like “Twisted Transistor” stood out thanks to its video featuring cameos from rappers such as Snoop Dogg and its impact on alternative and international charts. The tour cycle included the 2006 Family Values Tour with Deftones and Stone Sour, drawing more than 400,000 fans, and is complemented by a live DVD titled Live on the Other Side, recorded in 2005.

In 2025, Korn celebrated the album’s 20th anniversary with special magenta vinyl editions, social media posts highlighting its legacy of resilience and change within the band, and media coverage that included intimate concerts leading up to the release.

Korn’s legacy within nu metal is reflected across most of their albums, and See You on the Other Side marked a significant shift in the band’s direction, making it clear that Korn is the founding father of true nu metal.
