ZAYN and his Room Under the Stairs

“I think the intention behind this album fully is for the listener to get more insight on me personally as a human being — my ambitions, my fears,”

ZAYN is back with his fourth studio album, "Room Under the Stairs”It feels like ages since we had a new project from the former One Direction superstar after he released “Nobody Is Listening” back in January 2021.
And this new album is completely different than the previous ones. Be prepared for a journey through the heart and soul of a more rustic, grounded sound, heavily inspired by the likes of country artists Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson.

Room under the stairs is like a handwritten letter from ZAYN to his fans, packed with deep dives into his ambitions, fears, and inner world. “This is my favourite album that I've made to date, mainly because it comes from a place of sheer honesty and vulnerability, I wanted each song to feel as if it was just me sitting beside you telling you how I feel, singing directly to you”, he mentioned in an interview.

The album kicks off with 15 tracks, including the catchy lead singles "What I Am" and "Alienated". With legendary producer Dave Cobb at the helm, Room under the stairs is a delightful mix of acoustic charm and electronic sprinkles. And no guest artists this time, it’s 100% ZAYN.

The “Dusk Till Dawn” singer also has mentioned that he is “proud” of his album, but he are still a bit worried about comparisons to people like Beyoncé, Post Malone, and other pop acts who have forayed into country music recently. “People need to know I didn’t jump on the bandwagon,” he said.

What’s your favourite song from “Room under the stairs’? Do you like this new direction for ZAYN?
