World Music Day 2026 | Fête de la Musique (World Day of Music)

World Day of Music 2026 falls on Sunday, June 21,

inviting everyone to celebrate the power of music. 

As of June 2026, there has been no official declaration of any global theme for World Music Day 2026. However, the key essence of the event will still be about ensuring access to music by all and inspiring participation and inclusion. It is important to mention that each country can have its own theme and program.

History
World Day of Music originated in France in 1982 as ‘Fête de la Musique,’ conceived by Maurice Fleuret and launched by then-Minister of Culture Jack Lang. The goal was to encourage amateur and professional musicians to perform in the streets.

World Day of Music Activities :

1. Share your favourite songs or playlists, play Deezer Music Quizzes or Mix your friend's music with yours on Shaker 
2. Discover new artist and go out of your way to explore new genres. Put your Deezer subscription to good use. 
3. Sing with friends or introduce someone younger to a favorite artist. 
4. Support Independent Musicians and Artists
