Get your plastic guitar or at least your console controller ready! Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, and Ghost are leading the charge in a new video game that’s going to make us rock out big time.

If you missed those all-nighters with your buds, shredding on that plastic guitar pick and complaining about your fingers hurting, get ready. The legends of Red Hot Chili Peppers, the eternally cool nerds of Weezer, and the dark yet catchy Ghost have officially signed the papers to be the main course of Stage Tour—the new music video game that promises to bring back the glorious golden age of rocking out in the living room.

Behind this project is absolute royalty: industry veterans who back in the day created gems like Guitar Hero and DJ Hero. In other words, people who actually know how to make us feel like badass international rockstars, but now with next-gen graphics, venues that look absolutely killer (inspired by real festivals), and mind-blowing audio.

The Initial Setlist, Pure Ear Candy

To get you hyped, they’ve already dropped the first confirmed tracks that are going to make us sweat bullets:

  • “Dani California” (Red Hot Chili Peppers): Perfect for showing off with that insane final guitar solo.
  • “Island in the Sun” (Weezer): To chill out a bit, sing the "hip-hip" with your eyes closed, and reminisce about the good old teenage days.
  • “Square Hammer” (Ghost): An absolute banger with a killer rhythm that will instantly force you to throw up the devil horns.

And hold on, because there’s more variety here than at a Sunday flea market! If traditional rock isn't your only thing, the game comes with a rich mix. You’ll also be able to play tracks by Japan's BABYMETAL (to headbang your brains out), the 80s virtuosity of Extreme, the heavy-hitting industrial metal of Static-X, and the fresh indie sounds of Good Kid. There’s something for everyone, from your metalhead cousin to your most alternative sibling.

Dust Off the Guitar and Start the Jam Session

The best part of all is that you won't have to play like it's a mobile game. Stage Tour comes with full compatibility for guitar, drums, and microphone. So start looking for the cables or batteries for your old instruments, because the multiplayer mode is going to be intense. You can form a band with your friends on the couch or compete online against people from all over the world to see who is the true Guitar God and who is completely stuck on easy mode.

This announcement comes at the perfect time, because let’s be honest: the music game genre has been deader than a party without music since the late 2000s. But this project is arriving with every intention of proving that rock in video games wasn't dead, it was just out partying!

The official release is scheduled for this 2026, so start saving up your allowance and practicing your rockstar poses in front of the mirror.
