Twenty years ago, the Australian band Taxiride surprised their fans with *Electrophobia*, a very special album in their discography. Released in September 2006, this work departed from the traditional studio format to offer an acoustic repertoire in which the group revisited songs from their first three albums with new arrangements and a much more intimate, organic performance style. The recordings took place in a Melbourne church—a setting that lent the project a warm atmosphere and distinctive acoustics.

With *Electrophobia*, Taxiride demonstrated the versatility of a band that always knew how to blend melodic pop-rock with polished vocal harmonies and a strong classic rock influence. Far from merely reinterpreting their greatest hits, the group offered fresh takes on tracks such as "Can You Feel," "Get Set," "Everywhere You Go," and "Everything's Changed," highlighting the quality of their songwriting and the strength of melodies that worked just as well without the electric instrumentation of the original versions.

Two decades later, *Electrophobia* remains one of Taxiride’s most unique works and an excellent showcase of their talent as songwriters and performers. More than just an acoustic album, it represents an exercise in artistic maturity that allowed listeners to rediscover some of the best songs by one of the standout Australian rock bands of the late 90s and early 2000s, cementing a legacy that continues to be celebrated by their fans.
