Now that Qobuz  in Canada I wanted to know what people think of Qobuz  and if it is worth trying over our loved deezer for any reason

Hey @MJmusicguy

If you're seriously expecting an in-depth qobuz vs deezer comparison here, you'll be disappointed. In an operator-led forum something like this is not welcomed.

Or do you also ask in the BMW forum how people like Mercedes or whether it is worth switching from the one-series BMW to the A-Class?

I think you should check out the subchannels(*) on Reddit and start a discussion there.

It is response like this that make me not wan to post here anymore  i mean love Deezer but i came here mostly for flow and the community aspect but if we cant even compare and contrast without being attacked it is pretty bad.

I have no idea why you feel attacked. I was just pointing out that you won't be able to get a discussion going here in the deezer community that is ultimately about qobuz...

it was the unwarted reactionary rone

Understood. You are obviously very sensitive.

@dee_dirk  a little bit yes because i obviously love Deezer or I would not have paid for yearly and trained it for that year nor would have given beta feedback on things  this was simply meant to compare and contrast pros and cons  of each. not meant cause controversy or trouble,

@MJmusicguy

👍

If I was a little too rough, that wasn't my intention.

Such comparisons between streaming services are often very subjective, as each user has different preferences (like everything else in life).

Nevertheless, I want to give you a first comparison (as a peace offering), since I am also a qobuz user myself.

Clear plus at deezer:
Flow
recommendation algorithm
General use of the smartphone app: Simple and intuitive

Clear plus at qobuz:
Many songs are available in HiRes. Especially if you have the right devices for it (DAC) and good speakers or wired headphones, a real pleasure.

Neutral - related to deezer and qobuz alike:
no connect function (like Spotify has)

I appreciate this thread. My system can supposedly handle very well a high res environment so I am interested in the Qobuz offering although I understand Airplay does not support hi res. I can use the apps native in Kef Connect but they are not as familiar or user friendly as the original (Deezer at least, I am not familiar with the Qobuz offering). Playing tunes through Kef Connect seems to offer a better sound environment, but that could be my expectation bias. The big one for me is the playlist limit. Apparently Qobuz has a 2000 song limit as does Deezer, which I absolutely hate, except in favourites. I have well over 5000 songs currently in my favs which is my most used playlist, and this might be a Qobuz deal breaker for me. Qobuz would have to sound WAY better for me to get over the playlist limit.

@BigFKahuna

I’m not sure if you’re still around, but I thought I’d share my experience. I switched from Deezer to Qobuz for a while, but long story short—I’m back with Deezer. The main reason is that Qobuz just doesn’t offer the same sense of community, and their customer service was honestly disappointing. It felt like I was reaching out into the void. Deezer, on the other hand, always made me feel like part of a community. Plus, their support actually responds, and 99% of the time, I get helpful answers.

So, here’s my new approach: I’ll keep using Deezer for its community feel and great features, but I’ll also use the Qobuz store for purchasing and downloading high-quality tracks. This way, I get the best of both worlds—Deezer’s user-friendly interface and social features, and Qobuz’s audio downloads.

@MJmusicguy thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! I as well am still with Deezer as I am happy with the format, quality and community. I find about 99% of the tunes I look for; track mixes are a great way to explore tunes similar to ones that I enjoy. My issue, as I Airplay(1) to my KEF system, I suffer from the occasional dropouts. Not inherently a Deezer problem, rather a factor of my WiFi set up which no one as of yet has been able to reliably rectify. I cannot find myself using the more reliable KEF Connect app over WiFi as there seems to be a 1000 track limit within the app, whereas the use of Deezer-Airply1 allows me full access to all my tracks in a Deezer Playlist. Now, would for example a Deezer Connect feature be a solution? I would love to find out!
