This 2025 one of his most famous albums turns 45 years old and has been a crucial part of his career

The Game left his mark with two unparalleled songs like 'Another One Bites The Dust' and 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love', which, despite the passing of the years, remain among the most listened to across the planet.

Queen's chart-topping album celebrates 45 years since its release in June 1980. Unlike previous albums, the band's eighth studio album was recorded in two separate sessions, one during the summer of 1979 and another in early 1980. In addition to this change in recording dynamics, for this album QUEEN worked for the first time with producer Reinhold Mack, according to Universal Music.

It was a critically and popularly acclaimed album, marking a shift in the band's sound toward a more danceable and funky style, without losing its rock essence. It was a commercial success, with songs like "Another One Bites the Dust" reaching the top of the charts and becoming instant classics. Although some critics and fans considered the change of direction a departure from Queen's classic sound, many appreciated the album's experimentation and freshness.

The quadruple platinum record is more than deserved, and it managed to reach number 1 in both the United States and England simultaneously, which was an absolute pinnacle. It's never among its fans' favorites, but The Game remains dazzling and immortal. Oh! Freddie's iconic mustache appears for the first time around that time. It's not on the cover, but in the videos.

Without a doubt, their most notable feature is the inclusion of synthesizers (an electronic musical instrument used to artificially create sounds) in the production of some songs. The band said this change wasn't a betrayal of any kind (although it may seem strange, some fans took it as such), but rather simply a search for a new style, an attempt at innovation. And they really did it well. Queen adapted very well (both on this and subsequent albums) to the use of synthesizers.

Of course, inherent to their use of synthesizers, the group also innovated in their musical style. From this album on, they expanded their musical range considerably, taking styles popular in the 1980s and adapting these new sounds to their traditional rock. They also delved deeper into their use of the bass, which they used as the basis for many songs.

Furthermore, all the members composed several songs on this album. A special case is John Deacon, who doesn't usually compose much, but felt very comfortable with the change in style and dared to create a few songs. Below is the complete list and its composer:

1. "Play the Game" - Freddie Mercury

2. "Dragon Attack" - Brian May

3. "Another One Bites the Dust" - John Deacon

4. "Need Your Loving Tonight" - John Deacon

5. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - Freddie Mercury

6. "Rock It (Prime Jive)" - Roger Taylor

7. "Don't Try Suicide" - Freddie Mercury

8. “Sail Away Sweet Sister (To the Sister I Never Had)” – Brian May

9. "Coming Soon" - Roger Taylor

10. "Save Me" - Brian May

11. "Dragon Attack" - Brian May
