It is a defining French house track created by Thomas Bangalter (of Daft Punk), Alan Braxe, and Benjamin Diamond, peaking at #2 in the UK and topping US dance charts.

Stardust was a temporary collaboration, not a long-term band. Despite being offered millions to produce an album, they turned it down to keep the project focused and "magical".
The song was created in a single session at Bangalter's studio using a 2-second sample from Chaka Khan’s "Fate".

It was a global phenomenon, selling over 2 million copies, and it was widely considered the soundtrack to the summer of 1998.

Though the group members continued with successful individual projects, they never released another song as Stardust.
