"A Good Heart" is a song written by Maria McKee and recorded by the Northern Irish singer Feargal Sharkey, released as the first single from his eponymous debut studio album.

Feargal Sharkey is widely considered a one-hit wonder as a solo artist, with his 1985 smash "A Good Heart" being his only number-one single, topping charts in the UK, Australia, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. 
 

While he had other hits, "A Good Heart" defines his mainstream solo success.

 Before his solo career, he was the famous lead vocalist of the punk band The Undertones in the late 70s/early 80s, known for "Teenage Kicks".
