Totally agree. Is there any petition to sign to bring back previous version?..
Completely agree.
This Fortnite font is bad imo, and the fact that songs cannot be swiped down anymore but I have to move my hand all across the screen is definitely iritating - REVERT THE CHANGES
Have to agree that the logo is awful.
Â
When I opened my phone I thought I'd been hacked and the app taken over by fraudsters.
Once worked for a company who got voted as worst employer for their corporate Christmas card.... The award for worst logo design goes to.... Deezer.
Whoever did the design and the team behind the market testing clearly got this wrong on so many levelsÂ
I like the improvements in the apps (Android, Windows). Some features need to be fixed/restored, but those bugs happen.
I donât mind the logo being purple. I am simply not a fan of the icon being ONLY a heart. I mentioned this in Reddit but I think something in the logo should reference what the app actually is. Make the heart wear headphones or something. A single heart looks like a dating app. Not an app related to music.
No one is really going to recognize that as an equalizer heart.
Like a lot of people I thought my Deezer app was gone on my phone yesterday. Then I thought it was a temporary change for a special event I wasnât aware of. Googling it pointed me to this topic.
So now we have the âpurple heartâ as the Deezer logo, and the âclassic heartâ to add a song to our liked songs. Hence on the notification screen, I just want to tap on the heart icon ; but it is just the logo. Iâm quite surprised an UX designer hasnât raised this issue.
Also, the widget on my main screen looks like now a dating app (or an health monitoring one). Not sure I want to keep this on my main page now⌠And the app icon is not compatible with âthemed iconsâ on Android (unlike todayâs major apps).
Â
So unfortunately not a big fan of this change :(
Perhaps there are cool updates from this new version, but this logo change hides them. Thatâs sad :(
This is not the explanation, this is copy-paste from your design presentation. You've ruined the app, now you are ruining communication.
Just stop and listen to people a bit, until it's too late.
Colors are ugly, the font is ugly, the logo is ugly, the very idea of âbe and belongâ is just a plain nonsense. This makes no sense.
Whoever did this to Deezer is working for Spotify, nothing else could explain this disaster.
This is a mess. The font is so childish, everything looks unorganized. I preferred Deezer for 13 years over Spotify, because the latter was the cluster**** this now has become too.
Spotify has more songs. I will definitely switch if you guys donât make a button for us to select the old UI.
Â
I advise everybody to like the opening post!!
The font is literally the Fortnite font.
I don't understand why Deezer could not go on fonts.google.com and just find a font which is not hideous and not childish.
Â
This is a disaster from any angle!
I just feel sorry for all the public communications Deezer staff that have got to deal with this. Iâm sure a lot of them know how awful the new UI is, and they gotta be the ones to take the blow for these stupid decisions made by the CEO and CMO. I can picture these two sitting in their big chairs thinking that what Deezer really needs is to look more like TikTok and Fortnie or whatever. Now they alienate their user base, suddenly change the entire app from top to bottom, worsen the experience and the looks, double-down on their imbecile decisions, and the users who rightfully so feel angry flood the inbox of the unlucky employees who have nothing to do with the decision and who now gotta give a half-assed pre-written excuse about âbeing and belonging and empoweringâ. Like what the fuck does that mean. Iâm only here to listen to songs I like.
It is clear the big people in the company wonât budge, as much as they know and see they fucked up. This project sunk hundreds of thousands of dollars, so if you still have hopes to see it being shut off in a week, it wonât. Next quarter, their stats will probably be down and theyâll still run with it because if they retract it looks bad on their part, even if it hurts the users.Â
Congrats to the CEO and the CMO. Now your app looks like garbage, cost millions of dollars, and youâll lose a few thousand users in the process. Genius move.
Â
I just canât understand the âhateâ towards the new design. You really can feel the âhateâ between the lines sometimes. I really like the new purple colour and yes, even the new look & feel of Deezer.
People are switching to others, only because of the new icon or colour. Their choice, I respect that,. But give yourself some time go get used to it. And what if the other also start changing things? Even the big green gigant did change a lot of things in the past.
I know, some of you are thinking âDonât fix it if it ainât brokenâ or âWhy change it after so many years?â. But sometimes you have to change, try something new, even if not everyone likes the change. This could go the right or the wrong way. You can never please everyone Iâm afraid.
And yes, there are many things Deezer needs to fix in the app (iOS, AndroidâŚ.), so join this community where you can tell what you think about Deezer and tell them where the issues are. Now it looks like a lot of ânewbiesâ that never been here are here only to rant about the new look.
Well now, whatever you decide to do, we all love music, so please keep enjoying thisÂ
When you have to explain to the users the meaning of the changes, you have already lost. All the features and fixes that have been left undone for years, and this is the answer. I cancelled my subscription for 5 users faster than a purple heartbeat.
Ironicaly, after cancelling my family subscription I got an email telling me  they where sad to see me go This is so self-inflicted. The teenagers didnt like it, the parentes didnt like it, me as an artist didnt like it. So it was an easy decision to leave.
Iâve never hated an app icon before until I saw this on my phone. Fine if it was dating or health app but itâs not!Â
Â
Unsure whatâs going on with font in the app, it looks like fortnite.Â
Â
We have YouTube premium as well but never really used their music app, now seems like a good time to try it as I donât want this on my phone any more.Â
 Could not have created a worse logo. Time to switch platforms!!!!
If you fix the completely broken Chromecast support and add gapless playback, I will stop complaining about the ugly interface.
They will never do that. Some examples are:
- Deezer Connect has not worked correctly since launch;
- Gapless and Discord Rich Presence are the most voted features and never made it;
- The API is very old and obsolete;
- The APP on PC is still a simple Electron app;
- There are many bugs in the PC application that were reported a long time ago and have not yet been fixed;
- Etc.
It feels like Deezer didn't do much research about their user base. I chose Deezer over Spotify back then because of the Hifi streaming and the clean UI, it felt professional. The new design, especially the logo is a complete disaster. I felt embarrassed when Co Workers asked me about it when they saw it in the tray. Design is childish.. also some banners and content let me think I'm using some woke dating app for teens. Will give it a few weeks until I move to Tidal. Just want to have a professional music app.
I also want to share a few thoughts on the subject. the first thing I thought was: "help what the f" when I updated the app. In the meantime, however, I have become quite comfortable with it.Â
Nevertheless, it would be very cool if there could be some improvements.Â
1. a user-defined theme. (Just a few colors that the user can choose from if he doesn't like the purple.
2. a different font please. Imo the previous one was actually the best possible
3. what's with the fisheye on pretty much all icons? (I just want to understand the latter)
Just cancelled my family plan. All the best.
Please restore the shuffle all button (shuffle my music) on the iOS and Android apps. I set my phone apps specifically not to update because this is my favorite feature of Deezer but it forced the update anyways and now its gone.Â
My service renewed today so I guess I will give you a month to fix it. Thanks!
Iâm sorry to tell you but you can keep hoping for the best, itâs not happening.
YOU want our money not the other way around. You should listen to our concerns not impose your identity whatever you wanna call it on your customers.Â
And no, refreshing a visual identity is NOT essential if itâs working. Apple iOS still holds its interface pretty well  after almost 2 decades because IT JUST WORKS.Â
Microsoft released Windows 11 which was a major change; Community did NOT like it so the company was forced to restore, tweak and implement features based on users feedback.
Have you ever heard of BETA releases? user opinion? Ahh you donât care, reminds me of NokiaâŚÂ rings a bell?Â
BTW, I bet if you ask random people on the street what could this shiny beating purple heart mean youâll be surprised... but who cares anyway?
Sugarcoat things as much as you want...your approach towards your clients is enough to make me leave the platform for good.
Good luck with your commercial suicide.
The beating purple heart simply represents love and passion for music
Does this mean you guys will finally get rid of the podcasts since itâs not music? I hope so.
The icon looks more like a dating app. I have to remove it from my PC, and from my iPhone home page
Please change it back quickly
Â
Chris
Hey Deezer,
Yet another request for switching back to the old decent user interface. Or, if you want a new one, please make it decent. Otherwise, if your intention related to new UI was to be the ugliest, then you did it ⌠For the future, try to take into account our opinions (we, the subscribers ...) when you have in mind such steps.
