Sir Ringo Starr (born Richard Starkey) is an English musician and actor, globally celebrated as the drummer for The Beatles. Joining the band in 1962, his steady, left-handed drumming style revolutionized modern pop music. He also sang lead on iconic hits like "Yellow Submarine" and wrote "Octopus's Garden".

Starr overcame severe childhood illnesses to pursue a music career, initially playing with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. After the Beatles broke up, he launched a highly successful solo career with chart-topping hits like "Photograph" and "It Don't Come Easy".He continues to tour with his Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, a revolving supergroup featuring legendary musicians. 
For his immense contributions to music, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice (with the Beatles and as a solo artist) and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2018.
