"Woman" is a 1981 hit single by John Lennon from his Double Fantasy album, written as a tribute to his wife, Yoko Ono, and women in general. Inspired in Bermuda, it serves as a "grown-up version" of the Beatles' "Girl" and a recognition of the value women bring to life. 

Released in January 1981, it was the first single following Lennon's death on December 8, 1980, and reached number one in the UK, Canada, and other countries.

 Lennon stated that a sunny afternoon in Bermuda made him realize "what women do for us" and that they are "the other half of the sky".

 He described it as his most "Beatlesque" song on Double Fantasy.

 The song is a "we" song, focusing on a mature, personal appreciation for Yoko Ono and the universal role of women.
