After five years of silence, Evanescence is shaking up the rock world once again with their sixth studio album: Sanctuary, released on June 5, 2026 via BMG and Columbia Records.

A Band Born to Last

Formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, Evanescence burst onto the music scene with a unique sound: a dark fusion of alternative rock, metal, and orchestral music, with Amy Lee's unmistakable voice as the undisputed centerpiece.

Their debut album Fallen (2003) catapulted them to worldwide stardom with anthems like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", selling over 17 million copies and winning two Grammy Awards. From that moment on, they cemented their place as one of the most important rock bands of their generation.

Five Years of Waiting

Their previous album, The Bitter Truth (2021), was their first record of original music in 10 years — a wait that fans felt deeply but that was worth every second. Now, just five years later, they return with Sanctuary, an album that according to Amy Lee herself took over three years to make.

"I am so damn proud of every second of this album. It's overwhelming." — Amy Lee

Sanctuary: 12 Songs, A New Era

The album was produced by Zakk Cervini and Jordan Fish, and includes 12 tracks highlighted by the singles "Afterlife" — released in 2025 as part of the Netflix animated series Devil May Cry soundtrack — and "Who Will You Follow", the explosive lead single of the album.

This is also the first album to feature bassist Emma Anzai as an official band member.

The World Tour Has Already Begun

To celebrate the release, Evanescence kicked off a North American tour on June 11 in West Palm Beach, Florida, with Spiritbox, PoppyNova Twins and K. Flay as support acts, continuing through the UK and Europe in September and October. Leaving open the possibility of performing in Latin America in 2027.

Sanctuary is now available on Deezer. The double vinyl edition arrives on September 4, 2026.
