Deezer Community, bringing people together.

Thanks to MyDeezerYear and our Best of 2021 Awards, we have been analyzing the ups and downs (mainly the ups) of 2021!  We are leaving another year of restrictions and lockdowns behind. In the past two years we were  forced to be separated and we had to reinvent ways of connecting to one another. It was hard but virtual communities have helped all of us to feel less lonely and cross all the bridges we encountered together.

We want to go back to basics and celebrate our Community, for being a Community!

The love for music and tech brought us all here, but let’s not forget that a Community is made of people which is why, we came up with a little game to get to know each other better and shed a little light on who hides behind the Deezer Avatars you see all the time!

Not to worry, everything is GDPR compliant! 🤘🏼

We have asked our Deezer Legends to start the game answering this little quiz, so you can learn more about them and the precious work they do here. Not only Legends from our Global Community, but also from our Portuguese and Spanish speaking Communities are participating. When we say we are a Global Community, we really mean it!!

:point_down_tone3: Copy and Paste the quiz in the Comment section and tell us more about you :point_down_tone3:

    > What country do you live in :earth_africa::earth_asia:?

    Germany … actually, Deutschland.

    > What was your favourite song as a child :baby::headphones:?

Which one of the >100 I loved? The earliest I can remember definitely is “Schön ist es auf der Welt zu sein” (1972).

    > How long have you known the Deezer Community:name_badge:?

    About 2 hours now?

    > Who is your favourite artist from your country :raised_hands:?

I give a bleep about where an artist is from, I prefer to judge them by what they do :-) So, my favorite artists that SING in German mostly aren’t from Germany (“originally”) ...

    > Song you sing in the shower :shower::mega:

“Sie hat ein knallrotes Gummiboot” (not, not really, I tend not to test my shower’s walls’ integrity by singing)

    > Favourite Deezer feature:top: ?

It works on Android Car (as opposed to Amazon Music)

    > Three apps that you use every day :selfie:

I probably don’t even use three apps a day … let’s see … Fairmail (Email client), Webbrowser, PV meter Widget (does a widget count as an app?) … no, Deezer I don’t use every day, I’ve got things to do :-)

    > What’s the title of your Private Playlist on Deezer :zipper_mouth::sweat_smile:?

    What is a “private playlist”?

    > Write your Top Played Artist of 2021 :fire::fire:

Accoding to which stats? Might be ZZ Top, but that’d be coincidence.

    > What Deezer feature would you like to see implemented :robot:?

Block artists by tags. Sure, that’d require tags to be set properly … still, being able to never ever having to listen to certain “artists” and others that would have the same tag attached would be a killer feature (pun intended).

    > Best Live concert memory

    Blackmoore’s Night in Hamburg.

    > First CD or vinil you bought :spy:?

Either Jean-Michel Jarre’s Oxygene or something by The Stranglers.

Listen to Classic Music after having taken a few courses in understanding how that works. It’s … mind blowing to know how composing music “works”.

Hi m.a., are any of the classical courses online? I’ve done some of Robert Greenbergs which I enjoyed?

Hi, Bevan - I definitely recommend Greenberg’s (older) courses. The newer ones seem to be too much old wine in new skins (like “Youtubing for people whose attention span is less than … oh, it’s over already?”). I course I can most warm-hearted recommend is “how to listen to and understand great music” (available on various platforms) and then “take it from there”. It so very much depends on what areas you are comfortable with and where you need “guidance” to get into a subject / composer … for example, I never quite understood Britains’ obsession with their German-import Händel … and I still have to have someone explain that particular component of the “English Soul” to me :-)
