🤠 Carrying the Country Sound... Today I Recommend Brandon Wisham’s New Release | Ain't What It Looks Like 👀

Brandon Wisham is one of the new voices in American country music, beginning to make a name for himself through a blend of talent, authenticity, and deeply personal songs. Born in Savannah, Georgia, and raised in Williamston, South Carolina, he is the youngest of seven siblings and started out playing covers in local venues during his teens. His breakthrough came with "Pain Won’t Last"—a song written after the loss of his father—which caught the attention of Bailey Zimmerman, who ultimately recorded it. Since then, Wisham has settled in Nashville and shared the stage with artists such as Tyler Hubbard, Nate Smith, and Josh Ross, in addition to being named one of Pandora’s "Country Artists to Watch."

His sound sits firmly within contemporary country, yet carries significant emotional weight and a soulful vocal delivery. Wisham focuses on stories of life, heartbreak, loss, personal growth, and second chances, aiming to convey experiences that resonate with listeners beyond the country genre. That sincerity is precisely one of his greatest strengths: his songs stem from real-life experiences and a view of music as a space to process pain. Tracks like "Growin' Up," "Other Side of Lonely," "Whiskey’s Whisperin'," and "Tears In Her Tequila" showcase this blend of modern country, sensitivity, and autobiographical storytelling.

Ain't What It Looks Like is Brandon Wisham’s debut release, arriving on August 21, 2026, via The Core Records/Capitol Records. Although billed as an EP, its 11 tracks and 27-minute runtime give it substantial scope, functioning almost as an initial artistic statement of intent. The record revolves around grief, heartbreak, and—above all—the process of moving forward when things aren't exactly what they seem. “Nothin' Left To Burn” opens the record by setting an emotional tone right from the start, while familiar tracks like “Ain't What It Looks Like,” “Other Side of Lonely,” “Tears In Her Tequila,” and “Good Grief” further flesh out the portrait of an artist who turns his experiences into honest, hopeful country songs.
