"Smooth" is a 1999 mega-hit by legendary guitarist Carlos Santana featuring singer Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. Released as the lead single from his comeback album Supernatural, this fusion of rock and Latin rhythms became one of the most successful songs in music history. The song spent 12 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and won three Grammy Awards (including Song of the Year and Record of the Year).

It was the final number-one hit of the 1990s and the first number-one hit of the 2000s, and the only song to appear on two decade-end Billboard charts.
