I have a Deezer Premium account (via a Family Account)

“Hey Siri, play Led Zeppelin” works as expected.

“Hey Siri, play Black Dog by Led Zeppelin” results in Siri saying “Ok, playing Black Dog” and then Deezer playing a completely random song, seemingly from my Flow List.

This seems similar to problems I have on Deezer Desktop where searching for a given song shows a correct result list but then Deezer plays a random related song when I click to pay.

I’m starting to question the point of paying for Premium if some of the basic perks of the service don’t work on any of my devices.

@Dave Caslin

Don‘t know what’s the problem on your side, but for me siri plays a certain song i‘m asking for. But in general i must say that siri imho isn’t working well with other music services.

Do you have a family Premium account? FWIW I’m an extra member on my wife’s account. I’m wondering if the issue on Deezer Desktop and Siri are the same and it’s actually Deezer not respecting the premium membership (my understanding is that Deezer Free tier refuses to play specific songs by design)

Hey Dave,

If deezer was treating your account as deezer free, you wouldn’t be able to select specific songs when trying to use the deezer app on your phone, and you would be hearing ads. Is that the case? If not, it may be the phrasing you are using with Siri.

In my experience, Siri (and Alexa) likes specific phrases, unlike Google Assistant, who does fine with clear speech.

as Supersclumpf wrote, Siri has trouble with music services and requests in general. I’ve lost count of the times I nearly threw one of my HomePods out my window. 😅

try different phrases, “Siri, play the song Black Dog by Led Zeppelin” or similar.

Also, excellent taste in music, my guy.

FWIW I switched back to my previous music service (the one w/ the COVID misinformation 😕 ) , which works flawlessly with the same voice commands. Hopefully Deezer gets this sorted in the future and I can switch back.
