On my iPad. Since the new layout was introduced I have noticed that when you type an artists in the search bar sort of ‘freezes’ and will not let you retype to search again. Have to completely come out of the iPad and start agin. Assume this a bug that will hopefully be fixed soon.

The issue still exists on iPad, but there is a work around, you can search and as long as you won’t press “return” in iPad keyboard at the end of the search bar, then your iPad won’t get stuck and you’re able to clear the search bar.

Hi @Rockthorne could you please updated your Deezer app to the latest iOS version 10.34.0 (10.34.0.4) and let me know if the problem persists.
Thanks

I’ve been informed that there is an ongoing issue on iPad which is under investigation. However, I can’t provide an ETA for a fix.
Thanks for your patience and apologies for the inconvenience

Is this issue ever getting fixed??! I used to really enjoy using Deezer on the iPad as opposed to my phone. But it’s been completely unusable for months! Clearly there aren’t many users that play music via their iPad, because I’ve not seen many other comments on this.

oh and by the way that workaround (above) doesn’t work for me.

How is this not fixed yet??? It’s been over 4 months now… The work around doesn’t work either. Very frustrating and unprofessional.

Hey there. We need a fix. This is a stupid 80´s bug. Don’t understand how it still not fixed for months.

Same here for me since months, am based in Switzerland.  Search bar on iPad freezes after performing one search. The above mentioned workaround does not work for me either. Only killing the app helps to then again be able to perform one search. Unacceptable.  Latest IOS version and Deezer app version 10.44.1 (10.44.1.1). Am Deezer customer since more than 10 years → if that will not be solved within next 4 weeks I will change to spotify.

Guys, I played around a bit and found a workaround:

  • open Deezer on iPad which we do usually in landscape format
  • click on Search (one of the 4 buttons on top beside Home, Favorites,…) but don’t use the search bar yet
  • turn iPad in portrait format such as you would use on iPhone, don’t use search bar yet
  • turn iPad back into landscape format → now search bar stays stable, does not move to upper part of window/frame and is working properly, I can now perform several searches without freezing
  • This procedure also fixes the search bar when it was already used and is frozen

This is certainly only a workaround that - at least for me - does the job, and certainly not a long term solution!  Furthermore, my observation might help Deezer developers to hopefully now fix the root cause ;)
