Every playlist contains excluded artists and songs

This feature does not work. At all. I have clicked “Don’t Recommend This Artist” 200 times (200 artists that I greatly despise) and I have clicked “Don’t Recommend This Track” on almost 400 songs. It does not work; over 200 artists I HATE and every single track I have excluded are still littering every.single.playlist. I hate pop music and I clicked “dont recommend this artist” on over 200 pop artists. When I login, every single “playlists you’ll love” is comprised of only pop music and pop artists - “tiktok hits, pop rewind, 10’s pop rock, women of pop, lucky girl pop, sad pop, pop lust, soft pop”.

I listen to metal, punk, alternative rock, and house music with no words. What is going on? I contacted support and have received no response so I am posting here in hopes of getting help. I am not paying for a subscription that shoves pop music into my face despite me clicking “do not recommend” on 200 artists that I despise. I have tried logging out, deleting the app, checking on my macbook chrome browser, I have tried restarting my phone, nothing works. I even went through every pop playlist and clicked “do not recommend this track” and then logged out/deleted/restarted phone and all of those track are still playing/showing up despite appearing in my “exclusions list”

After waiting 24hrs for a response from Deezer customer support, they tried to help me while simultaneously ignoring every single question i asked. 
 

can someone help me?

when i see a band i dont like, for example insane clown posse and i click “do not recommend this artist” why does that artist still play in flow? If i exclude an artist, will they still show up in “made for you” and “release radar” and “discovery” ? If you are viewing a recommended playlist and you click “do not recommend this track” dows anything happen visually? Support would not answer these very basic questions and then claimed that they fixed my problem but did not.

Hello @wreckitrocco, I talked to the Costumer Care agent that followed your case. 

He has done everything that we can do on our side. Eliminating ALL pop music from the account might be a bit hard, it’s just too vast, 

you can create your own playlist to avoid the problem. 

Soon we will have a feature on our FLOW that will answer your problem, just hold tight a little longer!

Hi @Yula he TRULY ignored my questions. At no point did i ask for all pop music to be removed… not even close.
my questions were relevant and could help me understand deezer. For example, i asked “are excluded artists supposed to appear in the ‘playlists youll love’ section?” And he chose to not answer and to not even acknowledge that i had asked a question. Can you answer that question?

@Yula even you seem to not notice that i asked questions above… can you answer *any* of them? Do you work for deezer? If so, surely you can help answer my questions. Being ignored when i ask basic questions is infuriating and makes me feel like deezer is definitely not the app for me.

here are screenshots so you can see how Alfredo evaded every single question i asked. Im not judging him personally, i just do not understand why all of my questions were avoided and the case was declared closed, problem solved. It is not solved for me as i still have questions that deezer support refuses to answer. If someone were to answer my questions, i too could feel like this is resolved and go on with my life.

Hey @wreckitrocco, I am sorry you think we were avoiding your questions, we weren’t, but the answer is not as black and white as you might expect it to be. 

All recommendations come from an algorithms that learn with your behaviour over time, so even if you dislike a lot of artist and tracks you will not see results immediately. I checked your account today and I can see that under “Playlists you’ll love” there are only rock/alternative playlists. 

Keep feeding the algorythm with your music and it will continue improving.
