Shuffle SELECTED Playlists and Albums

Please allow us to choose which playlist are included in “Shuffle My Music” I have so many Playlists, sometimes I only want to hear from 3 of them. Allow us to Create a them.

Times I want to shuffle 2 or 3 playlists that are Christmassy or Halloweenish , or I want to hear some playlists from my artist radio mix.

Example . Before I click shuffle, I pick my Rock playlist, my pop playlist and my discover playlist , and create for a shuffle .

Example 2. I want to hear The Beatles artist mix, The Cranberries Artist Mix , and maybe add a Snoop Dogg mix. And then allow those to be played as a mix, my creation.

Example 3. Let me select a playlist I created, an artist mix , say The Beatles , and then I can select Discover new music by Deezer. And I can NAME that shuffle , and click shuffle and listen to my creation .

I hope you allow us to do this. I know people would love this if they can create their own shuffle instead of shuffle all. Thank you

Does it shuffle music from all playlists, or just favourite tracks?

Oh I guess shuffling tracks is a separate feature.

Personally I don’t think “Shuffle My Music” should play from any playlists (by default at least). There are so many reasons someone might create a playlist of music they don’t actually really like (Christmas, wedding, friend, work, etc).

You could let the users define/manage a set of shuffle strategies (or “Flow strategies”, I guess) (and then for example the shuffle / Flow button uses the current active one).

Let’s consider that shuffle primarily runs on all your favorite albums/tracks.

Characteristics of a shuffle strat could include the following:

user can set the percentage of tracks that are picked (by “Flow” / Deezer’s magic recommendation algo) outside of the primary domain / “comfort zone” - e.g. 0, 10%, 20%, etc.
“artist” toggle - e.g. I’ve liked Tom Waits but I’ve liked only 5 albums of him; sometimes I want the shuffle to tap into those 5 albums only, sometimes into anything Tom Waits
genres can be included/excluded (e.g. jazz only, anything but metal, etc.)
choose randomness between uniform, or something skewed towards the tracks you listen to a lot (you’ll consciously reinforce the skew...), or other pre-defined randomness strategies
etc. - the more options we have to finetune our custom shuffle, the better! A shuffle feature, especially on a very large library, can easily get “too repetitive“ or “too all-over-the-place”, giving the user more control is not a waste of man days I think ;-)

(If that sounds too complicated, just let users opt-in to such “advanced features”)

I think this is a great idea - pick a handful of playlists “I’m in the mood for” and then hit shuffle… would nice feature! :)

I'm a "Deezerhead" (fanboy) and just love music! (Please note even though I love all things Deezer I do not work for Deezer and therefore cannot assist with account issues etc.)
