Hello.

Deezer has one great feature called Cloud-based queue list. It remembers and syncs position within a queue.

But I think it would be even better if it can remember and sync position within a track/song too.

When I switch between devices I want to continue where I left off - within the queue and within the last played track/song.

The feature should be optional, not everyone might like this behavior.

Thanks.

PS: Sorry for my english.

Hi there @katro

Thanks a lot for your contribution!

We'll be looking into this, but for the time being, I've passed your feedback to the right teams here at Deezer

Purpose of this feature: Most the user travel back and forth from home to work during this transition they listen to music on their car or on their phone. When they reached home they listen to music on Deezer app installed on Samsung Smart TV. When they work or study on their laptop they listen to music on their Chrome browser. This is a daily routine of all users of deezer across the world. I would be nice if app can resume from where it was left of instead of playing again across all devices.

It’s true that synching the play queue starts at the beginning of the last played track after a break, but you could also use the progress bar in the player to jump to the preferred position in the song if you don’t want to hear it from the beginning again.

This is not the most effective solution. Let me consider the scenario - user was listening the track on his laptop while he was studying or working in the office. Its evening time now he needs to go outside either going back to home from work or to meet his friend, He board himself in the car and now he is driving the car he play the song in his car and the same song started playing again because laptop song position is not sync with mobile app. Therefore, according to your suggestion he need to stop his car and in the middle of driving he need to use the progress bar in the player to jump to the preferred position in the song. Think about this what if - he miss to see the front car while looking the mobile to use progress bar. The chances of meeting an accident is more or he might die or end up in hospital.

You mean Deezer could get sued because of this? OK, then I’ll better vote for this idea.

I believe @bluezzbastardzz wanted to give everyone a temporary workaround, @harsh.chokshi1:sweat_smile:

It's a good idea to sync the playback position too. Our devs are aware of that and they also agree, we just need to know when we can prioritise this idea - once we get an update, we'll let you know

I approve of this idea, and it's one of the features I miss about Spotify(so you know it can be done). There is an option to pick what device you'd like to listen on and it resumes the track right where you left off on whichever you chose. You can also change the volume from any device that currently has the program open. I love Deezer so far and would love it to have all the features I enjoy. 😊

Sure, we have had the synchronized queues for a long while now, not perfect but I believe it has provided the developers enough insights and lessons to improve on it and deliver on this idea - remembering the last track seek position on all devices.

Some services even show the seek move in real time across all connected devices - do we have any updates regarding this feature?

Sorry if this is slightly the wrong thread, but I’d love to see Deezer via Apple Carplay just simply resume playback between short hops in the car. Currently I have to start from scratch every time I start my car and Carplay connects i.e., remember which playlist I was currently in, find the track that was playing and remember how far through it I was!

Are there any updates on this?

Cheers

Ben

I’m just coming over from Qobuz, and so far being able to resume playback after a restart is the only feature they have that I really miss on Deezer.  Upvoted!

This is a critical issue.  Every other streaming service I’ve had has this “feature”.  This issue will make me drop Deezer even if I have to more for another service.
