Hi there!

would be great if you could provide a plugin for LMS. Since it is easy to install on Raspberry Pi (e.g. PiCorePlayer) and many HiFi output-options exist it would enhance your support for audiophile listeners! At least: provide some details for the login process so that the community can work on a plugin.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @markm9999 after the first official deezer post and some post in the slimdevice forum, I I would like to wait until next week. I have some hopes for a LMS plugins. But I am not quite sure.

The new Deezer plugin, which does not depend on the mysqueezebox servers, is available as an early development release. To install it from the plugins panel in LMS, it is recommended to first update piCorePlayer to the development release 8.5, as otherwise there is a conflict with the previous plugin. To do this, it is necessary to go to you pCP panel, navigate to the LMS settings and “Set Branch” to “Development,” in the next step click “Update LMS” and “Manual update”. The user Cedzerosept already explained the next stepts in another tread, so I simply quote his description below (with the corrected repository URL).

Please remember this is an early release and there is a number of things that might not working perfectly yet. You might prefer to use the current implementation until March 19 and only then change to a more mature plugin. In any case, thanks to a philippe44, you will have the option to continue using Deezer on your LMS device.

I can also confirm that a solution has been found and works, thanks to Philippe44 and Michael Herger. It allows squeezebox and squeezelite users to access Deezer without the need of mysqueezebox.com servers. They developed a new Deezer Plugin for LMS, all this running without the mysqueezebox.com servers.

Please note that a Deezer paid account is required.

For the moment it seems that the easiest way to install the new LMS plugin is as follow:

  1. Install / Upgrade to LMS 8.5.0
  2. Use the standard LMS web interface; go to the ‘Plugins’ section / tab (“Plugins” / “Manage Plugins”)
  3. At the very end of the plugin list, you will find an “Additional Repositories” section → add the following repository URL:https://raw.githubusercontent.com/philippe44/lms-deezer/main/repo/repo.xml
  4. Click on the “Save Settings” button located in the bottom left
  5. Refresh the page and you should see the new Deezer plugin listed at the very end of the plugin list
  6. Tick the box and Click on the “Save Settings” button located in the bottom left
  7. The new Deezer Plugin will then appear in the “Active Plugins” section at the very beginning of the Plugin list
  8. Click on the “Settings” link following the Deezer plugin description & Author column
  9. On the “Deezer Plugin” configuration page, add your Deezer Account and ARL token and click on “Save Settings”
  10. I don’t remember if it’s necessary to restart LMS, but normally, now all should be Ok!

If necessary you can follow the dedicated thread on the slimdevices forum: https://forums.slimdevices.com/forum/user-forums/general-discussion/1668568-tidal-deezer-pandora

Enjoy!

The new plugin is still a beta, but it is working great using the newest build. It has more functions than the original one. Especially the Flow got upgraded.

Thanks for Philippe44 and Michael Herger to get deezer back on the LMS.

Another Deezer subscriber here that uses LMS. I love the Deezer content but if I can’t stream via my LMS/Pi’s/Touch and listen on my HiFi then that’s a deal breaker for me and I’m sure many other LMS users.

Surely a way can be found to develop/release an API that enables Deezer subscribers to access this great content and allows the fantastic LMS community to incorporate into the LMS plugin ecosystem.

I don’t want to have to go the Spotify route, but will if a solution to this can’t be found which would be a real shame.

Come on Deezer make it happen!

agree at all

The new local plugin hasn’t been working correctly for the past couple of days. “My Collection” shows as “Empty” under all categories (Songs, Albums, Playlists, etc.). I can play my Flow, but song names and artwork are not displayed. Members who log out are not able to log back in. There are a couple of reports of similar issues with the old plugin, for example from about six months ago. Can Deezer help get things working again as it did back then? Thanks!
