I second that. I would love a feature that takes the end of one song, say the last 5 or 8 seconds, and mixes it into the beginning of another, and does that song after song. Something that would be easy to toggle on and off. I have a hip-hop playlist with over 500 of my favorite rap songs, and it would be awesome to have such a feature while it's playing on shuffle mode (or any mode). Thanks!

Crossfade is already available on iOS, so you can enjoy smooth transitions between songs there.

As for gapless playback, it works on the app and web, but not on the desktop version right now.

Man what is with deezer and it's logic of having different features everywhere ? What's with feature parity ?

It's insane how many feature I encountered now in the last 2 months which only work on one platform

I think  “some” (so maybe not all) Android beta testers can already enable Crossfade in their Labs settings, see this support article:

Concerning gapless playback in the desktop app, they updated the app from version 6.0.280 to version 7.0.1 yesterday removing old code, but no new features. Maybe this will enable future fixes though, only guessing. It’s good to know that they are still working on it, too.

Thanks for your help! I went into the Google App Store, signed up to be a Beta-version tester, dowloaded the Beta version for Android, and that has the crossfade function in the Deezer Labs section – pretty cool.

Something for later on down the road when AI (hopefully) becomes good: A DJ-function that uses AI to sequence and mix the songs with more precision and feel than a simple crossfade function would do. Crossfade is really cool, but it’s a one-trick pony, and doesn’t take into account the different tempos of songs, when the music or vocals cut out, come in, and things of that nature. It would be really cool to integrate that type of functionality into a playlist if and when AI ever gets to that point.

Glad I could help. By the way, yesterday someone on the Deezer subreddit posted a new method for the Deezer desktop app to enable gapless playback, too:

Enable custom features in the windows desktop application (e.g. gapless playback)

And the update to desktop version 7.0.1 has enabled support for the Silicon CPUs on Mac computers which should result in a better performance of the Deezer macOS app especially on laptops (faster, less power consumption):
