keep crossfade when skipping track

Feedback: the crossfader only works if the song is fully finished playing. Is it possible to keep the crossfader active when I skip to another song? Now it abruptly skips to the next one.

Keep the flow going on 🕺💃

This feature would still be very useful in 2026. Crossfade now works well on Android when tracks transition automatically, but it is still not applied when manually selecting or skipping to another track.
It would be great if the current crossfade duration setting could also apply to manual track changes, providing a smooth transition instead of an abrupt stop and restart.
Interestingly, I remember the former Deezer Labs crossfade behaving this way. Please consider bringing this behaviour back.

Additional observation: crossfade even works correctly with “Repeat one” enabled, smoothly transitioning from the end of a track back to the beginning of the same track. So the audio engine is clearly capable of overlapping two playback instances. It would be great if the same transition could be triggered when manually skipping or selecting another track.
