Could Deezer add an album as one track for the albums which would benefit from gapless playback?

There should be no gap between tracks running into each other. This is a basic thing for the listeners experience.

Deezer has already implemented Gapless playback on the webplayer and on Android quite a while ago.
Try playing Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd…..plays gapless wonderfully.

I’m using the desktop app on windows. That still doesn’t playback gapless.

Why not try the webplayer, there’s not much difference in the layout, although you may have the facility to download tracks using the app on windows etc…... you can’t do that on the webplayer, but I personally would rather have the ability to play gapless albums if they have been recorded that way.

What is it to you which player I use? I’d like gapless playback on the desktop app.

It’s pretty hard to get your knickers in a twist when you’re wearing them. 😂

On a serious note KDAM71…. Deezer has been dragging their heels for years on this subject. I have been on at Deezer for a couple of years to have gapless playback on all platforms. As you are already aware the webplayer and Android can now play gapless (that took years) but for some reason they have not implemented it on the desktop app which is APPALLING.
I use picoreplayer with Logitech Media Server on a raspberry pi 5 and Deezer plays gapless, the one thing it can’t do is play the desktop app on the Chromium/Firefox browsers….it’s not compatible with the Linux OS.
But that’s another subject.
cheers

And still nothing. I wonder how many people will quit Dezeer in favour of the newly cheaper Tidal. This is not tribalism or anything like it, I just want some basic features which are still unavailable in 2024, so even with all my love towards Deezer, and knowledge of their limited number of devs, I think I may not stick around for very long. Desktop gapless - not there, integration with Roon - not there, DAC support - not there, desktop bit perfect - not there. I understand that, maybe, there are a just a few devs sitting somewhere in France protecting us from a demonic flood of bugs and that consumes most of their time, but it’s not a good service. And it’s no longer competitive price-wise. Sad.

And canceled. I will be watching Deezer’s progress and hopefully one day I will come back. Best wishes to all the users. And hopefully the service gets better and some point. Cheers!

Hi RavenOvNadir,
Sorry to hear you have decided to leave Deezer. I just wondered what method you use to listen to Deezer as there is some ways that you can listen to music and it will play gapless. For example using the Webplayer on your PC/Laptop instead of the Deezer App also the Android App will play gapless.
I have got to say that Deezer have drag their heels on this one and it’s no surprise that a lot of punters are leaving Deezer and trying out other streaming services.
I wish you all the luck for the future and you find a streaming service that fulfills all your music listening expectations.
Cheers

Hi Copyu. Thanks for your reply. I know there are methods. But there are also principles, which I think are important. One of mine is not to use workarounds for paid products. I had gapless in webplayer and of course it worked fine. But I have a rather decent headphone based setup, and I wanted a piece of software that works good with it. The desktop app, which in theory should be able to produce max quality audio isn’t doing it in Deezer. There is no bitperfect audio, there is no gapless playback and there is no way to integrate Dzr into Roon, which has better management and better ways to search for music. It’s like “you have Hi-Fi but you can’t use it if you’re not using a streamer.” And one thing I don’t want is a streamer in addition to amps and dacs and headphones sitting on my desk. I still think Deezer can be great. But it’s like in the movies. Talented but lazy. I also am pretty sure that I will be back sooner or later. But for now, I just want to maximize the pleasure of my listening experience and Deezer is not even near the ball, let alone carrying it. Thanks for your nice words, hope for the best for you!

I did it as well like 2 years ago after begging so much time for gapless music (such a stupid thing to beg for... that's a music service!!!)
I'm on tidal, paying much less and enjoying even higher quality of music and clips.
I love deezer but they don't really care what people want.

Wow 7 years on and this is still not available?
I’ve left Spotify because their shuffle is atrocious, but this is also so so bad. Its making me question if Deezer is the right choice.
Not being able to listen to a continuous album without breaks between songs spoils the listening experience.
As mentioned before Dark Side of the Moon is a great example, but there are many others Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield, Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking - Roger Waters to name a couple more.
All your customers that like to listen to continuous albums are stuck with a subpar experience.
Deezer, how is gapless playing not a priority feature? Crossfade is not a solution, I don’t want songs that should flow into each other to be merged into each other. Its not the same. Please don’t tell me to use crossfade as solution.
I can’t find crossfade on Desktop and Android apps anyway.

I left 2 years ago because of that. Move to tidal they're the best.
