Equivalent of Jams / Group sessions, NOT shaker

I haven't seen a date or even a confirmation that this functionality is coming. I've seen Deezer admins mark it to "not for now" but without any further explanation.

I also moved from spotify, and used the Jam feature quite frequently, i've already sent a ticket support to request it, but just bumping to get more eyes on this. We love using jam to listen to songs in the car and at home on the sound system, and not having to rely on only one device.

 

And No, shaker is not even close to jam.

I switched to Deezer because Spotify is evil, but realistically Deezer is neutral at best so your position is not that secure. Still considering switching to Qobuz - only reason I didn't initially is bad reviews of their recommendations algo and lack of features, but have since decided to shift my music listening patterning away from algo recs and generated playlists so realistically there's not much keeping me here. An actual equivalent of jams would be a factor to tempt me to stay, and would also make it much easier to convince several of my friends to switch too.

I absolutely agree with this, I’ve just switched from Spotify for similar reasons and I am really missing jams, my whole family has swapped so it’s a feature we used to use a lot (especially in the car when deciding what music to play) so I’d really like to see this implemented at some point.

We were currently also considering to switch to Deezer. But the missing possibility for jams and also just the feature that i can skip a song on my mobile when Deezer is playing on the computer, makes Deezer for us a non-option. Otherwise Deezer would be our choice.

PS: The foundation for remote control is basically already there... If I skip to the next track on my mobile, it stops playback on the computer and shows a message that Deezer is already used on another device. Why not just execute the instruction i gave on the computer instead of stopping playback..?

As a Spotify refugee I have to say I find Deezer to have a very good catalog. There is no song I can think of I could not find here and I'm not exactly listening to mainstream music. 

I also like the overall "mood"  of Deezer 

The app on the other hand is making the whole experience less enjoyable. If you have a recent phone with decent specs you're mostly ok and won't feel a really difference compared to Spotify. If your phone is aging (as my wife's FP3+) then everything feels bloated and lag-ish... To be fair FP3 is known to provide a rather bad experience not only with Deezer so... Take my words lightly here 

However, jam is a feature that would benefit deezer's customer base as whole.

I hear the argument that everyone listens to music differently but I think it would be also fair to recognize that such feature allow for more interactive and realtime music sharing. I also use Shaker as I'm preparing a party for my wife end of this month. That's useful to prepare ahead of time but let's be honest: this is not quite the same thing as being capable of joining an ongoing music stream without hijacking the speaker or the phone. 

I'm not evaluating moving back. As said, one has to weight the pros and cons, but I think it's unfair to not recognize the value in this feature request. Neither is it fair to flag "not for now" without providing more context. I work in software development and it really sounds like "ok let's mute Spotify refugees and put ticket in the backlog, where it will sit forever". If that's a "won't do" and you have other priorities that's a very valid point in that case I'd love to see the app roadmap (I don't know if that's something you would publicly share).

is is a really underrated feature; it would be awesome to add it. Also, if someone without Deezer can add songs via web UI or something, that would also help. 

I DESPERATELY  want to stop using Spotify, the ONLY reason i still use it is jams are a major coping thing for me atp, they help me alot with issues i have with being alone and im always listening to music and podcasts w my partner legit all day long with it, music means alot to me and I need it tbh, the ONLY reason I use it is for jams im begging for it to be added, it seems this post is old and no real or recent info on this, Shaker is not the same, I need to feel like im not alone and be able to listen to things and share things live and the host pausing it pauses it for all. Also pls if anyone knows of any music app that has anything like that please tell me im desperate atp,Sorry and thanks  

bump - i just switched and cant convince my friends to also make the switch because this feature is missing.

Great for parties, long car rides, etc. We even use this spotify feature during our workday in an office.
It’d be a shame if this feature is what stops other people from migrating….
