When streaming with a Deezer Hi Fi plan with my Onkyo Recevier, I have noticed that some items display as Mp3 320 and not FLAC. This only gets displayed when using my AV Reciever and my TV together. I find this helpful knowing what albums are Mp3 or FLAC, this info would be nice when streaming to your Desktop or Laptop computer, so can I suggest that this might be added to the Desktop app in a future update. It could be shown next to the artist and track name when playing the song where the progress bar is.
Can you include a feature on the interface which shows what quality the current track is being played at? I am trying the HiFi subscription and there is no way of telling right now what the quality is since there is nothing that shows if the current album/song is mp3 or flac. Changing the audio setting on the bottom doesn't seem to do anything (doesn't reload the buffer of the stream). Thanks

With computers is different, you can enable hifi mode, but not all songs are Flac, so here at this point will be interesting to know about the quality.

Maybe staff should change the subject of this idea to something including Audio quality indicator in desktop app, so it is easier to find for interested users like me. š
FYI: The official number of available songs in HiFi mode = FLAC streams is now 36 million while the whole catalogue contains about 53 million songs, as far as I know. So an indicator would definitely make sense, also one which would show if the track is "real HiFi" or transcoded from lossy source material if possible.

The new desktop app version 4.17.20 already has an indicator for audio quality as a sticker in the lower left corner of the album cover in the play queue view, either saying āHiFiā or āHQā meaning High Quality = MP3 at 320kbps. This indicator changes automatically if there is a track streaming in HQ instead of HiFi, but it seems most of the catalogue is already available as FLAC streams. If you do not see it, you might have set your audio quality to Standard (128kbps MP3) or only have a free account, neither Premium nor HiFi.
This indicator is also useful when doing listening tests and/or comparisons, as switching the audio quality during playback actually does not change the quality immediately. You have to quit the current track either by skipping to the next or going back to the previous one and then restart the track that you want to check with the changed quality setting.

As version 4.17.20 only runs on Windows 10 in Windows 8 compatibility mode (see the related thread), it will take some more time until all HiFi desktop users can see this new indicator, as the currently available version is 4.17.1.

Small update: the new desktop version 4.18.0 also has this indicator on the album cover in the play queue view. What I would like to have is an option to check the audio quality of non-playing files in my saved albums, favorite tracks and my own playlists, so I donāt have to actually start them and then change the view to play queue. Maybe itās possible to add an option in the track dropdown menu that shows the audio details of any track? That would be more efficient when checking for remaining HQ tracks in my library.

Update: this is implemented now in the desktop app and web player, check the lower left corner of the album cover in the play queue view. Mobile apps also show HiFi or HQ on the album cover now.
Checking the available audio quality of non-playing tracks is still not possible though, e.g. of my favorite tracks, my saved albums or playlists. An additional option in the track menu for audio details would be more efficient than actually having to start the track and change to play queue view each time.
