I appreciate your concerns. But I spoke to the team in charge of this and I understand why it's actually not that simple. Instead of filling this post with useless jargon I can tell you that Deezer is actively working on this feature.
And I've already seen several other features implemented this year - just have a look here in the ideas forum and you'll see.
In the meantime, Dark mode doesn't need more votes and once I get a timeframe, I'll post it here ;)

Jargon it up, Rudi, I'd guess many of us here are developers/designers/UX-engineers etc. I'd love to learn how to tell my boss that a website skin takes more than a year to get off the ground ;-)
Also, glad about new features, but on the other hand, you've removed the one the community liked the most (Hear This) without so much as a warning. Doesn't feel like Deezer's coming out ahead here.

Do you have a community-based beta-testing programme? Sign me up, or anyone else on this thread. It'll save you lots of pain in the future.

I miss the old dark and classy interface.

This is a 100% need! I signt up for this thread.

Although the interface of the current desktop is great, it is also a little bright. An option to invert the colours (i.e so everything white = black etc. - not including the album covers of course) would be super cool (similarly to how iphones can invert colours)

The newly updated macos desktop app look in insulting in its whiteness! There used to be at least a patch of calamity now it's brighter than a galaxy center. Come on, guys, the current OS version on a Mac is Mojave and you know what one of its most prominent features is.
