I am even more disappointed to have taken a 12 month subscription plan.

Hi
Your idea to control Alexa from the Deezer app is great, and other users have suggested the same thing.
I'll share this idea with our team once again.
If you have more ideas or questions, please let us know.

This is a really frustrating issue that needs resolving - trying to control the song to play by voice is full of problems, doesn’t allow you to go on a thread of linked music by browsing, and the fact that the Alexa skill is poor too and often doesn’t choose the right version of a song all adds up to me thinking of cancelling again after I came back on the current offer.

+1 I’ve been searching in the app how to do this and I am shocked I cannot do this. I can cast to Google but not Alexa speakers.

Hi
Currently, Deezer supports casting to Google devices, but not directly to Alexa speakers.
I appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our services.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Joining the disappointment here… I looked into this maybe last year or the year before. Turns out, nothing has changed. I love Deezer and really want to move away from Spotify, but really this is the ONE feature I need and use - to be able to control the music on Alexa via the app on my phone, or via the website/computer app. Come on Deezer, do better! Surely there’s a way!

I thought I would give Deezer a try as an alternative to Spotify. I was using it for about 5 minutes, then realized I can’t control Alexa from the Deezer app on my phone. Now I see that this issue was brought up many years ago, and the developers do not care about the need of users. So, after the free trial, heading back to Spoti 🤷♂️

Just signed up for the seven day trial and am immediately disappointed I can’t select any Alexa speakers from within the Deezer app, a feature I use on Spotify all the time. Sad to day I won’t be signing up until this is resolved

Hi, I'm moving to Deezer from Spotify and I'm currently using the free month subscription but the integration with Alexa is really unsatisfactory.
Do you have any real plan to implement it? Thanks.

Hey there
As you see above, one of the community managers updated this topic a couple months ago, but there is no firm timeline for any changes to the existing integration.
As you've probably seen, Alexa can be used with deezer with voice commands and also by setting up convenient routines.
There's obviously a reason you’re leaving Spotify, so perhaps you will weigh the benefits deezer offers versus an integration with Alexa that you were used to.
I switched over from Echo/Alexa to Sonos a while back and I’m quite happy with the improved sound quality and the platform-agnostic nature of Sonos. I also appreciate not having the ever-looming specter of an Alexa subscription on the horizon.
Whatever you decide, thanks for giving deezer a try. There are trade-offs with every service and we all need to find what works for us.
Best of luck wherever you land.

This is a feature that's being asked for the past 5 years, that simply works on services like Spotify and Amazon Music.
I was looking forward to trying Deezer and switching from Spotify, but now it seems like not an option.

When will this happen. Seems obvious it is needed. Shortsighted of Deezer to overlook.

Leonidia is no longer here, and a community manager will change the status from “not for now” if there is any update. Apologies for any inconvenience.

I’ve just switched family plan from spotify and suprised this basic function doesn’t work, it’s a month trial so I probably will be switching out before the month is out - my throat is knackered at the moment so I can’t actually speak to my speaker and I can’t control what music is played on the speakers, really annoying.
With Spotify’s CEO investing in weapons there’s a chance a lot of people (and artists) will be leaving, it’s why I left and am looking for a new service.

Hey there
I’ll repeat an earlier comment of mine since it seems applicable to you, too.
As you see above, one of the community managers updated this topic a few months ago, but there is no firm timeline for any changes to the existing integration. I don’t have any inside info, but this has been “on the table” for a number of years, so I wouldn’t count on it.
As you've probably seen, Alexa can be used with deezer with voice commands and also by setting up convenient routines (which may help you in your current situation).
There's obviously a very valid reason you’re leaving Spotify, so perhaps you will weigh the benefits deezer offers versus an integration with Alexa that you were used to.

Just to add another voice to this.
I’m looking to switch from Spotify. I play music through Alexa devices all the time but hardly ever use voice. Spotify lets me easily switch between different devices as I move around the house or play music everywhere from my phone. I’d almost certainly have bought a premium subscription if Deezer had that capability.
I am even more disappointed to have taken a 12 month subscription plan.
