Hello,

Saw several similar posts, but they were not created at “”Got an idea” section.

The suggestion is to implement function of Deezer player to directly connect external USB DAC’s at smartphones (bypassing the operating system mixer).

Since smartphone makers refuse using 3.5 mm mini jack, audiophiles pay attention to adapters with DAC. It’s assortment is growing - number of reviews on YouTube and feedbacks at Ali confirm this.

Streaming platforms as Tidal and Qobuz allow to output sound directly to external DAC through application “USB Audio Player Pro”. Deezer has no such function.

In my opinion implementation of this function at Deezer application itself (without workaround) will become a competitive advantage of service and will attract additional audience of audiophiles.

I agree!

Good suggestion @ZaurKh , I've forwarded it on and left my vote too

Thanks! :relaxed:

Perhaps this will be helpful,

I requested developers of “USB Audio Player PRO” if their pleer supports Deezer and here is their answer:

“Unfortunately, it's technically not possible. We need access to the actual audio data and the stream of
Deezer is encrypted and the SDK only allows remote playback of tracks in their own app.”

Hi there!

Guys, I’m using FiiO Q1 makr 2 external DAC with my iPhone. This external DAC takes the volume control over iOS - i can’t change the volume using iPhone when external DAC is connected. Support of FiiO told me that they did in such way to avoid internal iPhone’s DAC interference due to it’s low quality:) So I think this is a kind of bypassing of iPhone’s internal DAC. And of course the sound quality is much better using external DAC.

They refuse to make 3,5 minijack to make money selling TWS products. Smartphones aren’t thought for music, are anorexic, have less space because of cameras, chips, battery. And that means no space between components, which introduces noise to the signal.

DAP is the solution.

I agree.

Hi! im currently having more or less the same set up, ipad to a usb dac via camera connector kit. Sample size is always indicated to be at 44khz/24 bit regardless of what file quality is being streamed which is fine for me as long as im getting flac quality files into the dac.

My current deezer set up is at hifi, hope someone can help confirm if the dac is really receiving hifi quality files?

Thanks!

Hello @Buchoy, I just answered on the topic you created regarding this question  Short answer is yes

Have a nice day!

I recently upgraded to Deezer Hifi, because I’m upgrading my hifi system: new speakers, amplifier, DAC, … To only come to the conclusion that there is no way for Deezer to pass audio directly to a DAC in Hifi Modus via USB.

Very frustrating and takes away all added value of te HiFi subscription, because there is no way of consuming the HiFi files, the way they are intended. As a consequence I will be testing Tidal and Qobus, who both support DAC’s via WASAPI and/or ASIO.

Hey @StevenC

Thanks for sharing your honest opinion on this.

We're currently looking into these integrations to see if there's anything we can push for this year, with the resources we have. Please subscribe to the forum as you're considering to check other services :v_tone2:

So I’m new to Deezer and trying to catch up… I’m currently streaming Deezer via a BlueSound Node 2, but I’m shopping for an upgraded DAC. Do I understand correctly that I will not be able to run Deezer on a laptop or tablet connected to the DAC via USB or I2S and use the DAC to process the streaming files?

This will be a deal-breaker for me. Why would I pay for HiFi streaming and then use a terrible built-in DAC?

...We're currently looking into these integrations to see if there's anything we can push for this year, with the resources we have...

@Rudi - Any word on this yet? At the moment, I’m still enjoying Deezer with my BlueSound DAC. But I’m also still shopping for an upgraded DAC and understand that I’ll have to drop Deezer if I buy it before you guys get this working. I like Deezer so far, so I want to be able to take into account any effort you’re making to fix this before I cancel my subscription.

Hey @Fidget

Thank you for your support and for your patience. This idea currently sits on the backlog/pipeline for our product teams and developers to consider developing in the near future. It has a lot of traction and has been open for quite a long time so it's within the top suggestions - subscribe to the topic so that you get updates once I have more info :v_tone2:

As i understand - the only one way to listen Deezer directly to DAC is to use Apple camera adapter to Lighting with iPhone.

Or using OSX.

Getting attention to this subject again. We really need external USB DAC functionality. Currently using crappy laptop DAC. I have a Topping E30 DAC, but I cannot use it with Deezer. This should be priority story number one on your scrum backlog!  One off the strong selling points with Deezer is premium lossless soundquality. This makes no sense when we cannot use our own good equipment. Can you guys give a status update?

Hey @oplacheno

Thanks for sharing your hack with the community :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi @boekhour

This suggestion remains in our backlog - which means development hasn't started yet. But as other features get developed, and the idea gets more votes, this goes up on the list.

Our devs are fans of integrating the app to systems, that's why we're working on improving our public API for developers. So subscribe to the topic and bear with us, we need your support to get there in the near future :v_tone2:

Please, Deezer team! We need an external DAC support ^_^

Wish you tons of resources to make it happen as soon as possible!

Thank you for your passion

Hi! Totally agree, this is a most needed improvement, mostly taking into consideration that some of us are paying for a hi-fi service under the assumption that we want to make the most of the service.

All players that support USB DACs have terrible UX from early 2010s.
I really want to use my amplifier with Deezer Hi-Fi only. A huge library and a nice interface are the most important things for me.

I hope you hear our wishes :D

I do agree that Deezer Hifi is currently useless if it cannot provide a bitperfect hifi audio stream to an external DAC, whether it’s on a smartphone or on a computer. The Deezer Hifi service strongly requires this feature.

Upvoting this.

Are there any updates though? I am planning on upgrading my setup soon. External DAC/Amp for PC and portable DAC/Amp for my phone. Using Deezer Hifi now as my main streaming source (especially for Android phones when I’m outside).

It’s a shame if Deezer can’t bypass my PC and phone’s crappy built-in DAC and use an external DAC/Amp’s capabilities though.

I actually have USB Audio Player Pro app for Android, I hope they would provide the functionality. Or natively through the Deezer app via a future update.

The following idea has been merged into this idea:

All the votes have been transferred into this idea.

Hope this feature comes soon. It’s a must for many audiophiles.

If this isn’t remedied by the time my free trial is up, I’ll be cancelling. The entire point of paying for Deezer when I already have a family plan on Spotify, is to be able to use my USB DAC for lossless hifi quality. Why even offer a service when the main reason to have it it not usable? I am shocked. If you want my cash, ya got 3 weeks to pull it together Deezer! I would imagine you’ve probably lost countless other subscriptions for the same reason. It might be wise to put such an important usability fix at the front of your list, instead of tinkering with features that droves of people aren’t going to drop you over.
