Listen Next option while using Flow

Related products: Features

So I know a ticket was opened already about this, but it has been more than 4 years since, so might as well try.

Why can’t users add songs to the playlist when using Flow? I think it should be pretty basic to implement, and I personally have always struggled with this user experience (wasn’t sure why sometimes there’s no Listen Next option for no reason)

Here’s the previous ticket, with many upvotes.

Hey there, unfortunately this is not one of our urgent projects but we are still considering it.

Flow is supposed to be used when you are not sure what to play, or you want to be carried away from the flow…

If you want to have control on the queue you can listen to playlists, albums, etc...

@Yula , thanks for the comment, however I have never understood this reasoning for keeping the feature sets separate. Flow is great, but listeners are not permanently in a flow mode or in an album mode, often not even during an hour of playing. Regardless of what is playing (Flow or not), one should always be able to pick a song, album or playlist to be played next. If Flow was playing, Flow should be resumed after the active queue has been played. Optimally it would work vice versa too: while playing an album, I'd like to assign Flow to be played whenever the album (or the active queue, if it gets modified) has been played through.

Thanks for the comment,

Bad UX in my opinion but what do I know 😊

I’m a new user. I like the service overall, but there are some minor annoyances compared to Spotify. I see that this is something that has been shot down by the development team. I don’t really understand that decision. Why not put it in for people that want it? It’s not like that somehow hurts the experience for others.

Unfortunately it’s the little things that make or break a service. This will factor in to whether I make Deezer or Spotify my permanent app.

Fix this please, its a major bummer

Hello everyone! 🖐🏼

We are starting a big Flow rework, to improve the experience and satisfy your needs. 💥

We might not add exactly this feature, but we are trying to find a way to improve Flow in the best possible way.

This requires a lot of work and mostly, a lot of testing!

We have created this group  for users who want to help us, you feedback is crucial for us.

Join the group, we need YOU!

Hello there ! I agree with the other guys, i don’t think that this is a smart move, and I feel like deezer is blocking the user in the way that you are trying to make us use your app like ‘deezer want to’, even if it’s not voluntary. I don’t know if i’m very clear.
Plus, I’m personnaly using flow and song mix to discover musics and artists. When there is a new song/artist that i like, the first thing i would do is to go to the artist page to listen to his other songs and add them to the mix. It is very very frustrating!
