I’ve been enjoying being able to play BBC Radio stations through Deezer on my iPhone using Siri voice commands, for example Hey Siri play BBC Radio 1. This starts the radio station on Deezer on my iPhone which is great, particularly as the live BBC stations are not available on TuneIn or Apple Music.
However, I purchased a new Homepod Mini last month and have connected Deezer as the default music service, but when saying the same voice command on my HomePod mini it replies "Sorry I didn't find BBC Radio 1 on Deezer". Or if I say Hey Siri play BBC radio 1 it replies, "the app hasn't provided support for that on Siri".
On further investigation and speaking to Deezer support this morning it appears Deezer doesn't support playing it’s live radio streams on the Homepod. To make matters worst, now I have changed the default homepod music service to Deezer I can no longer stream any live radio stations (such as Heart etc) using a voice command from another service such as TuneIn.
Are you able to add voice support for the radio playback on Homepod through Deezer?
BBC radio streams are not available on Apple Music, nor TuneIn in the UK, so Deezer providing radio streams is my only hope and I am sure many other customers would enjoy having this feature too.
