When I block an artist or track, I don't want to hear it, even on recommended playlist

Just to add to this, when I block a track or an artist, I don’t want to hear it at all: on playlists, recommendations, flow, etc.

Disliking content primarily affects Deezer's recommendation algorithms, such as Flow or mixes, and does not remove existing content from your personal playlists or albums and You can still find disliked tracks by searching

When you dislike content, Deezer will:

Remove it from your Flow
Keep it out of your mixes and recommendations
Learn your preferences to suggest better alternatives

Thanks Nina, I know all this - all I would like Deezer to do as well, is if recommends a playlist for example any of these:

Is that it would remove from the playing queue the artists and tracks I don’t like - it doesn’t do this, but I think it would be a really good feature to have. Either that, or don’t recommend playlists that with tracks and artists I asked not to be recommended.

I signed up yesterday to find an alternative to The Swedish Stream and this is one feature that is very important to me. There are artists I don’t like or even do loathe and I don’t want to listen to them, period. But I also don’t want to have to rely purely on custom-curated playlists, so not being able to block them out in other peoples playlists is pretty close to a dealbreaker for me. So please implement it soon! 🙏

There's obviously a reason you’re testing deezer, some dissatisfaction with your current provider, maybe even beyond the recent price hike and ethical issues (we’ve seen quite a lot of former Spotify users here), so perhaps you will weigh the benefits deezer offers versus what you were used to.

There are trade-offs with every service and we all need to find what works for us. Every service has a different feature set.

Whatever you decide, thanks for giving deezer a try.

I actually have an even bigger problem. It’s happened a couple of times lately that, despite excluding explicitly an artist (and seeing said artist in the excluded artist list), Flow continues to propose me track from those artists. I am not even talking about excluding them from pre-established playlists, I am just talking about recommendation algorithm simply taking in account this feature… Is this a known behavior? that’s pretty annoying.

Here is the example that made me write to you yesterday. This artist is in my excluded list, yet flow proposed me one of her songs. This is not the first time it happens, but I do not have screenshots of the past occurrences. I’ll try to take more if that continues to happen.

It happened again. The artist “Emmanuel Music” has been excluded since several days/weeks, yet, yesterday, Flow on the Mobile App proposed me a title (see screenshot mobile)...

I'm glad this is a live issue I can chime in on. Recently I had something like OP's issue happen to me. I had an artist I have disliked suggested to me 3 times in a row. On the 3rd song I genuinely was so upset I started looking into tidal again. On top of that, the suggestions have been terrible for me.

Flow moods or genres are loose parameters for the playlist then when it is on target, it's a 50/50 chance it'll be a decent song.

I'm all for discovering new artists but goodness gracious. I just want to give the artist I listen to a decent chunk of change and it almost feels like I'm being punished for it.

I've been giving deezer a chance all year to get my suggestions right and I still dislike a dozen songs in a row before I get a few I actually like. It's embarrassing because I try to get people from Spotify and I'm telling them I use Deezer then I get the aux and Deezer plays some BS.

If Deezer can be transparent on this, I can stay with them in good faith knowing our issues will be addressed. Otherwise I'll have to move on because I've genuinely listened to less music this year due to deezers issues and limitations.
