When can we get Sonos Direct Play?

Can we talk about the most committed relationship that refuses to actually commit?

Deezer and Sonos have been "seeing each other" for YEARS now. They're technically together - you can play Deezer on Sonos! Amazing! Except... not through the Deezer app. You have to use the Sonos app. It's like being told you can absolutely eat at your favorite restaurant, but only if you order through your neighbor's phone.

Meanwhile, Spotify and Apple Music are over there slow-dancing with Sonos in both apps like it's prom night, and Deezer is standing in the corner for years insisting "it's complicated."

This is genuinely why half of us are still clinging to our Spotify subscriptions like a security blanket, even though Deezer's music quality makes our audiophile hearts sing. We WANT to switch. We're READY to switch. We've got our bags packed and everything.

But then we remember: "Oh right, I'll have to open a completely different app just to play music on my own speakers in my own house."

It's 2026, folks. We have AI that can write poetry. We have cars that drive themselves. Surely we can have direct Deezer-to-Sonos playback?

Just saying, Deezer - some of us are ready for this relationship to reach the next level. The commitment-phobic thing was cute for the first few years, but now it's just... a choice.

@Cuchulain you’ve now posted in two separate threads, and created this one. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but multiple forums threads aren’t going to change things.

The Community Manager read and recently responded to one thread, and I just did in another. I’m reposting that response here below.

I understand that you’re not happy that Deezer and Sonos do not offer a feature you’d like to have, but that’s the current (and foreseeable future) status.

If that’s a dealbreaker for you, thank you for trying Deezer. We all have to decide what service we like based on the totality of circumstances. Feature sets, compatibility with our preferred listening devices and systems, library, user interface, company reputation and ethics, there are many things to consider.

Best of luck with whatever you decide and enjoy your music.
