The new queue update is really inconvenient for me

It feels redundant. It does the same thing that “Play Next” does. What was wrong with the previous “Add to queue”?

I like to queue albums one after another. Now the queued album gets put right after the current song that I’m listening to, and I have to manually adjust the order so that I get 2nd Album after 1st Album.

I was in my 10th “I LOVE DEEZER ERA” until this new update… please fix this asap please, it’s summer and I’m struggling driving while making a nice queue now… 😭

When I encountered this change I assumed it was a bug. I did ‘add to queue’ on an album but it behaved as though I’d clicked ‘listen next'. I switched to Deezer from Spotify a long time ago on the sole basis that the queue functioned logically (like a queue in real life). The Spotify community forum had been discussing the issue for years. I fixed it by switching to Deezer. Bottom line: If playing albums one after the other requires a workaround, then the UX has failed.

I just made another post about this problem, not realising you’ve written about it just yesterday!

I have simillar complaint and I wrote to them about it but I don’t think they’ve understood me.

Their anwserw:

“According to the current queue behavior, Add to queue places the selected track before the rest of the current album, playlist, or mix, while Play next places it at the top of the queue. his means the second album can begin immediately after the track currently playing rather than at the end of the remaining album.”

I also complained about “swipe to play next” being too easily triggered

Does anyone know how to revert an update on android? This new update is genuinely infuriating me to the point of Im either deleting deezer forever and finding a new music app or reverting the update and never updating again. Thr app is genuinely unscrollable now, and not being able to queue up albums one after another is making me want to punch holes in walls.

Totally agree, this change is nonsensical, and I’m seriously considering switching to another platform because I can’t listen to music the way I like to, album by album by building up a queue. In data structure terms, this isn’t a queue anymore, it’s a stack.

I really want a proper Add to Queue functionality. The intuition of that feature is not to be mistaken. If I press it, then I want the songs to be added to the bottom of the queue no matter how the current queue was built. It’s so annoying to be doing workarounds to be able to build a queue. It’s simply a bad user experience and I really doubt anyone likes the way it’s done now.

I remember using this webstite years ago (for both deezer and facebook massanger and it worked well, as far as I remember)

https://deezer.en.uptodown.com/android/versions

They also have the old deezer app there. You’ll probably have to uninstal the current app and instal a chosen version.

Shameless copy of other thread:
Yes as a newcomer this is quite confusing/frustrating.

This is what i figured out with melodi/gemini (so i can entirely be wrong here):

The issue seems to be that an album play (with the purple play button) treats the album as a low priotity.(the same as the algorthmitic never ending stuff at the end) So it does not treat the album as the end of queue.

If you use the three dots and use add to queue it is treated as high priority. Then it works how you expect it to work.

So the tedious method to queue albums becomes something like

1.start song mix of one track of the album album (this sets the algorthmitic end)
2.Three dots → add to queue
3.Skip one track
4.Now you have your recommendations set correct and the whole albums is queue’d with high priority so you can queue normally

Why deezer counts the album play button as a low priotity is beyond me.

Oh, thanks, that was quite usefull.
Knowing how queue works right now, I created a workaround, where I play the last song on the album, add another album to the queue and then go back to the first song on the first record, to have my albums played back to back.

Funnily – after that the queue works in an old way, so you can just add a third album to the queue without all these shenanigans.

But it is still inconvnient and seems to be an UX issue. Maybe they could add a third option, “add to the end of queue” or sth like that….

Omg I thought I was being dramatic, but I hate it too 😂 I sent an email to deezer bc scrolling has become so inconvenient and it lead me here! Glad to know im not the only one who agrees this update sucks.
