I’ve noticed that I’m getting notifications for a lot of artists who I’ve favourited one or two songs from and then never listened to any others. This is bearable (though I’d love a “mark all as read” button in the notifications area), aside from the fact that artists who I like lots of songs from, or where I like the artists themselves, don’t seem to give me notifications.
I’ve only had a handful of notifications (across the year or two that I’ve been using Deezer, and hundreds of notifications) that actually mattered to me, and I’ve had several releases go past from artists that I adore without there being any notification of said releases (like, today, the only reason I found out that a new song from one of my favourite artists came out is because a friend of mine messaged me to tell me, and when I checked it had been uploaded to Deezer so it’s not that it only came out on other platforms or anything like that)
I’d love to get a bit of a better understanding of how the notifications system works; or, better yet, the ability to opt-in to notifications from artists by following them, rather than by liking one of their songs.

Do not know if it is just a happy coincidence, but this week I got my Friday New Releases playlist after an untold number of weeks or even months of never getting it.
I still do not get notifications from all my favorite artists, but it is a step further in the right direction, because at least I can find all the new releases from the artists I love in this playlist.

I second this question and I am absolutely interested in an answer, since notifications do not work for me either. I have always wondered why I only get them for a few artists instead of all my favorites.

Here we are again. I do not have any notifications and my Friday New Releases playlist is gone again, but there are more than five releases from my favorite artists this week (I had to check their profiles to find it out, though). 😭

I do not understand the notification system in Deezer. I recently came back after 18 months with “green one” where you do not have notifications but can check a “News” section where every new release comes on time (from your favorite artists and liked podcasts). Pretty inutuitive and reactive. Every friday at 00:01 AM you can check every new songs / albums released for example.
Deezer notifications are pretty random: they came slowly throughout the day (on friday for example), they are not exhaustive at all whereas new songs / albums are correctly marked as “new” on the artist profile page…
I wish that to “like” an artist would be taken correctly into account with the notification system.
