How do I disable auto-play of unwanted suggested music?

This is making me crazy and it is an absolute deal breaker. Without a solution to stop playing unwanted music after my selected track the service is just annoying. Why should I listen to something I don’t want (even if I paid)? Why someone/something has to choose my music instead of me?

I wrote to the support but I was dismissed with something like: “sit and wait, maybe in the future someone will decide to implement such feature”. That’s very, very far from acceptable

if you connect via browser and open the queue you will see a “Automated Recommendations” button.

This only works with normal use. As soon as a song is started from the search, you get a mix. Regardless of whether you have activated automatic recommendations or not. 😑

Just open the desktop client, then click here at the bottom right :

Then disable Automated Recommendations :

That would be great if I listened via a computer or laptop but I don’t . I listen via the mobile app in my car + a smart speaker at home , neither seem to have the function you describe .

You are right, this feature is not available on the app (Android for me) which is a non-sense...

I switched to Deezer from Amazon music because I didn’t want to continue to fund Jeff Bezos and his billionaire vanity projects , weddings + space race . Unfortunately after 3 months I’ve cancelled my subscription because of the inability to switch off the auto play / recommended music function . If I pick a song I want to hear then I want hear that song , and not have it followed by a random selection of music I didn’t ask for and have no interest in listening to . This isn’t an unreasonable request , but despite paying customers asking for this function year after year Deezer chooses to ignore them .

I live in the UK and am keen to support European services over US ones , which is one of the reasons I chose Deezer in the first place .

Currently looking at Qobuz + Spotify .

Hello @CoSep indeed this is per design and not a problem. I would even say that would be a nice feature to have on mobile, but unfortunately it is not in the planning to develop.

The search bar, allows you to discover that music, artist or album that you don’t know.

When you play a song from their, it always lunch a track mix.

The workaround, would be to create a playlist just with that song, and therefor, you don’t get recommend tracks afterwards.

You and the developers need to understand that we're not asking for a new feature, we're asking for one to be taken away.

This is absolutely appalling UX. If you can't make it optional then YOU MUST DISABLE IT ALTOGETHER, ASAP.

Who thought this was a good, or wanted, idea? Who sat in a meeting and decided that this is the way to treat PAYING customers?

I've ditched three other services for different reasons over the last 5 years to arrive here and I'm not afraid to ditch another. JUST STOP IT.

It is really annoying me too! I hate this feature - get rid of it!
It defintes my listening too narrowly and throws anything from that genre to my ears which is not pleasant and incredibly annoying.
It has frustrated me to the point I close Deezer and just go to YouTube since that algorithm is way better.
Considering cancelling if this doesn’t get resolved!

Wow, three years later and the repeated response is “it’s a feature, not a bug” and a complete refusal to address the issue.

I don’t want a workaround, and I don’t want my queue to be automatically filled when I start playing a song. I want to be able to control what goes in my queue, and I’m very clearly not alone in this.

Hey, Deezer folks, I’ve worked for years as a developer and unless you’ve built this in a really absurd way it’s dead simple to add a toggle enabling us to opt out of this feature. Hell, I could probably figure it out myself if I had access to your code.

Just do it. I’m not going back to Spotify, but this is annoying enough that I also might not stay with Deezer.

@Leonídia.Deezer You have stopped replying to this thread. Is this getting fixed or not? I left Spotify and don't want to go back but this "feature" is simply inexcusable.

@heirtopendragon she stopped replying because she doesn't work for deezer anymore.

There's obviously a reason you left spotify, so perhaps you will weigh the benefits deezer offers versus supporting them.

There are trade-offs with every service and we all need to find what works for us. Every service has a different feature set and functions
