^It’s hilariously bad community work to just bluntly tell people that “Non-binary” isn’t a gender. And then link them to the entire GDPR text without even doing the bare minimum to link to the appropriate chapter or section.

You don’t need anyone’s gender—not even from a technical standpoint (this account in particular was created through a third-party SSO and didn’t provide a gender, and yet your system didn’t complain).

You’re just greedy.

“Ongoing discussion”? For over three years? What’s to discuss? Just remove it. It serves no user purpose, and I doubt very much it’s providing useful information to Deezer.

Making a big deal about changing it just cements Deezer’s reputation as yet another dumb, soulless corporation.

I agree completely, because what does having someone’s gender identity change for someone? It serves no user purpose, and no music taste should change, you can be a guy and like Taylor Swift, same for a girl liking Playboi Carti or something if we want to get sexist now.. 

I don’t even think any music corporation needs gender in general, period. It serves no purpose, it’s just more information, and if it serves a purpose, it’s making it sexist most likely. 

P.S - I’m deffo listening to Playboi Carti now.
