Hi all,

We wish to collect some of your feedback on Flow, that's why we are opening a new dedicated thread for you to share your feelings on this feature.

Do you like it? Why? What do you think we are missing?

Please be as detailed as you can in your comments, cheers!

For me the biggest problem with the Flow is that it too often plays the songs from the favorites - it really needs a simple switch specifying the percentage of favorites to be played. Also it shouldn't be hard coded when a favorite should be played, but should be random. So instead of: favorite, new, favorite, new, favorite, new, favorite, new could be for example (assuming keeping 50% favorites): new, new, new,  favorite, new, favorite, favorite (in the example it's not 50% but in the long term it will be close enough, so the simplest code possible will suffice).

And currently when it does play a favorite it will be too often a song for "Favorite track" and not for example from "Albums". And it will repeat the same songs from favorites very often. With the simplest way of choosing songs from favorites (randomly choosing between songs from favorite tracks, albums, artists, playlists) it wouldn't happen, so there must be some code, on which most likely developers spent a lot of time, which is making me tired of the songs that I used to like.

Unlike some others, I really wouldn't like to listen to only a single genre in the Flow - currently it's working pretty well by diversifying what is played, and dusually] not playing nothing that I hate. But I do agree that as an option (may, or may not be a part of Flow) it would be useful. Actually adding the ability to create a Flow based on a playlist would magically solve the problems with the variety of options that users may want to be added - for example someone who wants to play 20% of jazz and 80% of classical music could simply create a playlist with 10 songs with these proportions. And it seems that it's very easy to implement - anyone could probably create a different account, add to favorites 10 songs with these proportions, push the Flow button, and probably would accomplish the required result. So while I have no idea what technical problems didn't allow so far to create a playlist based flow, it seems that creating a dummy account, with the duration of a Flow session, could solve these problems and reuse existing code without any change.

Noticed recently.

FLOW plays nightcored versions often… please stop with nightcores and play original.

I was glad to find original track of these nightcore’s.

I do like nightcores, when I am bored at home, and sometimes is all I play.

But on FLOW I want to discover originals, not nightcore’s.

When I'm bored at home and I'm on the internet
I'm searching for my favourite songs to listen next
But all I see on the screen is nightcores

It sort of sounds the same but it just isn't quite right
It sounds like it's speed up and the pitch is up too high
What have they done to my song, tell me why?

Welcome to nightcore

I feel that the daily music and the now removed “hear this” were far more helpful for finding music that I like.

Flow generally gives me much of the same music from my favorite music playlist, while that isn’t bad and I expect it, everything else seems far removed from what I listen to regularly. Every once in a while that’s a good thing but it’s consistently playing songs I don’t like, a top 40 every once in a while or something from a genre I rarely listen to, just to see if I might like it is acceptable. What i’m looking for is from artists similar to the artists I already listen to in the genres I prefer but haven’t heard their songs or something. I don’t just want super popular artists recommended to me because a lot of people like them. I don’t listen to them for a reason, it needs to go from always to every once in a while.

And about the disliking songs, I prefer not to do that and I wish there was a workaround. My tastes change over time and I think a lot of peoples do. For me that’s not an option, which is why refining how flow works seems like a better idea. Closer to what I listen to and less of what I rarely listen to. Less repetition, more reaching through the branches of similar artists and even same artists I haven’t heard every song from.

It would be great to be able to highlight the activity we are doing while listening to music. For example, I listen to a different style of music while exercising compared to when I’m working. Equally, the AI should be able to understand the time of the day I listen to certain music also (e.g. I always exercise in the morning) and adjust Flow accordingly. What I find is that I listen to music more when I exercise, so this is over influences what Flow provides at other times.

I follow ton of artists and have a bunch liked songs but Deezer is always playing same 5-10 songs plus few from artist that really don't fit my taste.

It is really frustrating me to the point I will have to switch to Spotify even though I get Deezer for free through my mobile carrier.

I really don't understand how Spotify, SoundCloud and YouTube can always suggest relevant fresh music but Deezer always plays same stuff?

I heard and liked, one track from pop artist, because of LYRICS and RHYTHM.

Now my flow plays at a times more pop in between of anything hard dance. This is unacceptable with no option to get flow reset. I posted yesterday about same, but my message got in moderation. I am tired of POP in FLOW! The track was No Friends (feat. Rosendale) and it is great… but.

Just because of this track in liked tracks doesn’t mean you should push more pop.

Please fix. I do not want pop in my flow, period.

Make it hard dance music please. This is what I listen 24/7.

I am really thinking to play else than hard dance music on YouTube Music now (free).

Thank you so much!!!

Then few moments this orchestra in FLOW… really makes running impossible.

When you run to 150+ BPM music and it plays this slow tunes where is nothing going on…

Makes no motivation to running.

FLOW pushes too much lousy music for me since I heard few pop songs.

Since then it plays orchestral music like Cyber Orchestra and then pop stars music heard in your nearest local FM radio. I listen hard dance music and flow is usually that, and whn I run, I run with Deezer of course and flow to keep it going… it plays orchestra songs and out of blue no motivation to run. Imagine 150+ BPM track chnaged for slow 128 BPM or less songs where is nothing going on…

I needed to hear this song after that to make my day a bit better…

Can you please remove all orchestra songs and pop songs from my flow?

Stop pushing commercial things and make option to reset flow.

would expect Flow to play different styles of music from my favorites, but it plays a style that I last listened to or added to my favorites. It doesn't play the favorite I added long time at all. Flow only remembers the last one played and does not follow the overall library, so I stopped listening to Flow. But I'm very comfortable with daily mixes.

Hello, I recently switched over from Google Play Music, since they’re closing soon.

I do enjoy Deezer so far, but one of the features that I’m missing from GPM and that feels kinda confusing to me, is that you could start a “radio” from a song (equivalent of a Flow/Mix here), and it would play the song I want, and THEN some related songs.

I’ve tried some things on Deezer, and I don’t see how it is possible here. From what I’ve experienced, if I search for a song in the search bar, then click Play, it will automatically play the song and every other one that popped up in the search bar… Which is rarely what I want, I didn’t necessarily want to listen to every different version of “Riders On The Storm”.
On the other hand, if I click on the three dots, and press the “Mix inspired by this song” button (or something around those lines, my app is in french), it will automatically play songs related to this song… But not the song itself first. Even if I first press Play and then the Mix button, it’ll automatically jump over to the mix and forget about the current song.

Otherwise, I just have to play the song first, wait until another version of the song starts playing, be confused, remember what’s going on, be slightly annoyed, and start the mix… Which isn’t necessarily the worst thing, except when I’m driving. I really enjoyed starting a song in the car and get a nice mix associated with it while I’m driving without having to touch my phone again.

Am I missing anything, or is this feature missing ?

Thanks in advance,
Lama

Hello Lama.

I am myself Google Play Music refugee and I welcome you.

I’ve been enjoying Deezer Premium since summer, after canceling with Google Music, and I can say you one thing. AGREE! The fact that the MIX, equivalent to radio on Google Music, is simply bad decision not to start from selected song. I hope they can fix it very fast, as it is very frustrating.

Otherwise I hope you can enjoy it.

Thank you for listening music on Deezer Premium!

Did you know that you can buy it annually and get two months free (around €8 a month)?

Thank you for your answer 🙂 Currently I have a nice 4 months-free offer, so I’ll see what I’ll do afterwards!
Half glad that I’m not alone thinking this, half un-glad that I didn’t just miss something

It would be great if songs could be added to the queue while playing Flow.

Hope these images help understanding the idea:

Thanks for the review @Placido09 I personally do the same, and the daily mixes are getting improved too (some of them - more details to come).

What I plan to do and I encourage you to do the same is to keeping listening to Deezer and adding more favourites and then in a little while, try listening to Flow once - to see if there's an improvement. I say this because the algorhitm learns with every input and changes constantly.

Hey @csanszan1 thanks a lot for the suggestion, other users have also asked for this before. I'll forward your comments and screenshot on

Hi @hpguru @madsaucy @eleventeen @vuxanov @Llamasticot thanks a lot for your feedback, will pass it on too. As the algorhitm always learns with your input, please check this topic here on how to train your Flow. @hpguru it takes time to fine tune your Flow to your specific tastes, but it'll happen, don't worry :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks.

I hope you will continue after 4 months. I had myself 2 months free trial and I paid one year advanced now. I mean flow can be better and some features, but honestly I do not like any other music platform. You’ve got plenty of free time to determine the worth of music.

Spotify is not for me, they do not offer 320K on web player which is main source on Chromebook.

You can post feedback Deezer here, I hope they are listening.

My doctor recommended listening lots of dance music on Deezer for a boredom and it worked.

Keep listenings.

Flow was great when I first started -- but the more I interacted with Deezer, the crazier the suggestions got. It quickly began to offer music that I wasn’t even remotely interested in. :(

There's still ways it can improve @Mummu please follow the tips here, you can still fine-tune your Flow :thumbsup_tone2:

I like Flow though a few ideas:-

use location to suggestion tracks e.g. if I'm in the gym then play upbeat
use gps to suggest e.g. if I'm running then play upbeat

Otherwise it's my go to if I'm not sure what to listen to 🙂

My Deezer thinks I am 24/7 in the Gym based on the FLOW :joy:

I think my Deezer Premium needs to know when I am about to sleep to slow down a bit

Your idea is amazing, I think Google Music worked this way somehow, as long as I used it.

Now it is obviously in graveyard.

Great piece of feedback @GillyAus I've moved it here so that it can be picked up from the same thread - it's easier to track it too

Today I had very big impression with FLOW.

I mean it is always amazing, like crazy good, but today it is like crazy crazy good.

It keeps playing FINEST music, and the beat is amazing. The flow is amazing. Different genres from hard dance, even some rappers I liked, thank you so much Deezer Premium! If not that, what is worth to pay year in advanced? The click bait song from DJ S3RL was so amazing, I am pumped.

Literally I can not stop listening flow today! Thank you so much for FLOW!

Something is done indeed good, if your music fans are satisfied and paying for a year.

The track radio can be improved, but flow and daily usually nails it to my biggest taste of music!!!

The joke is how can I pay another year in advanced? Perhaps 24 discounted months?

This is what I need in my life. My A40 Samsung phone, Huawei earbuds and Deezer Premium.

And some bus tickets for a travel in Finland.

This is what I was looking for when searching a replace for discontinued Google Music.

Amazing, @hpguru!

Our Flow can only keep getting better and better! Thanks for your support

Good day.

Feedback about FLOW. It is still amazing, but how do I say FLOW to play different remixes???

It plays often same remixes of songs I like. For example.

Ravers Fantasy, it plays Basslovers United Remix, but there is also amazing Original Mix, Megastylez Remix and few more. It never plays them. Also Basket Case always DJs from Mars remix.

Never it plays original or for example other mixes.

May it be improved?

Day after… Basket Case (Radio Edit) on DAILY !

Thank you so much! Basslovers United Remix! Finally some other mixes!

Keep liking and favouriting stuff @hpguru Flow is constantly fine-tuning to your tastes :relaxed:

Don't forget to skip too!

Flow is not horrible but its very much the same over and over.

I might have liked a 90's song because it keeps spamming me with 90's songs. I don't dislike those but I never listen to it either. For now i’m skipping, disliking etc but it keeps giving me 90's hits.

Also it's the same every day, over and over. Its like deezer's flow has a total of 100 songs and puts those on repeat. For example the Harry Styles song plays 2 times a day.

I'd like to listen to classic rock and slow blues, Pink floyd, Led zeppelin etc but there is too much pop music in there..

Also fire the one that came up with the idea of not adding a "play all by artist” button, inexcusable and pretty much a basic feature
