Well, there’s a response by Jaime about one specific problem a user reported on this thread - ending with “will let you know once it’s resolved”.

Since that “let you know” does not seem to have happened over three months, to me it looks like Flow is broken “by design” and there is nothing Deezer really can do about it (if there was, there would be a better response than “switch it off and on again” - read, uninstall app, clear cache, reinstall).

Apologies for simply repeating myself here, but I’d consider “Flow” a hopeless case and simply use the other features (e.g. the music and podcast catalogue Deezer offers) :-)

New user here, seems like this thread is still active, so I’ll post here. 

I brought in my favorites from a competitor, they do show in Deezer, 3068 tracks total; with double digit quantities each for playlist, albums and artists. Not a single track is non-English. I’m in the US, and do have my Country set as such. 

I believe the sound quality is better than the service I left, that’s great. But, I’ve got two complaints so far. First, flow seems to play the same 2-3 dozen songs, most are favorites with a few others. The other issue is the large quantity of non-English songs playing. I get a few in flow, and numerous in the daily selections.

If I have over 3000 songs, zero being non-English, why does Deezer think I want non-English songs? It also has suggested genres that I have zero favorites from. Is Deezer not using the favorite list that was imported? 

I’m hoping this gets cleaned up somehow. To be honest, it’s enough for me to move on to a different provider if not. Especially considering Deezer is more expensive than the former provider for my situation. I only need two users. Paying the family rate for two users is more than others offer for two users. 

Edit to add… I see other similar complaints going back years. Seems like this is not something Deezer is able or willing to resolve?

As discussed here it seems like Flow is generally “broken”. It favors the users’ favorites “maxed out”, so that one has to listen to the same songs over-and-over again with virtually no change in the playlist whatsoever. Also, it seems to ignore “I don’t like this style of music” tendencies or “don’t suggest this song” anyway.

I loved Flow-like features on other services, but I don’t use Flow on Deezer any longer as it doesn’t provide me with any variety, it’s more like one of those advertisement-financed radio stations that play the same 12 songs exclusively all through the day.

 

Enough of the rambling, since so many users are happy with their Flow experience, I assume the function is either broken for SOME or some software change recently has made it collapse on itself. Hoping for better times.

I agree that it plays favorited songs way too much. Regarding new/discovery music, it also plays the same ones of those over and over. I really wish it would play way more non-favorited songs from favorited artists. What’s the point in even choosing favorite artists if they are never played in Flow?

I'm sorry, but Flow is getting worse and worse from my point of view, and I really have to laugh. I turned it on today and set melancholy up, and look. The songs repeat over and over again. I have 500 performers in my favorite and over 1,500 favorite songs, and Flow is playing me a couple of the same songs. A really significant improvement. So my opinion of Flow hasn't changed. I'll try again in six months.

 

I am sorry but it seems how it works… the toggle for % new vs % old is needed.

There is not just a tracks on library, but 73 Million...

In my opinion Flow doesn’t play enough of my non-favorited tracks from my favorite artists. It does play my favorite artists, but it’s almost always from my favorite tracks. I want more of my favorite artists, but the tracks I haven’t favorited!

Flow, for me, is the reason i like Deezer over other streaming apps... Tried others, but was always missing the "comfort" of Flow... The new feature added recently is looking rather mwoah....

Flow is ok, although it still puts in too many tracks (primarily country) that don’t fit in any way into the music that I like. The daily playlists are much worse, recommending lots of music that I consider just plain garbage. I find myself hitting the “don’t recommend this track” often with them. 

I would like the ability to add songs to the queue/play next while listening to Flow. For example I come across a new artist I like, and I want to listen to a couple more of their songs without leaving Flow.

Now, since you do not respect the rule “Always behave in a friendly and respectful manner” by disclosing a personal conversation between you and another user without his consent, you don’t leave us any choice but to deactivate your Community account.

Bad decision too.

I hope he cancels and finds better server when he can be himself and be free again.

When my 6 mo Hifi ends, I will delete my account and never look back.

A company which is closing the mouth of customers just because they keep reminding about bugs which are not fixed, instead of actually fixing them, does not deserve any support. @Harmonie, thank you for being yourself, you are sun of this forum! Free speech is long gone, take care.

I guess if they would cancel us, and everybody that publicly criticizes Deezer, then Deezer would stagnate for ever, and stop improving. They need us, even if they might never see it that way. Not only me criticizing them, but also all my great ideas that I posted in this forum. Unfortunately none of which are recognized and implemented by Deezer...

Deezer Legends aren't doing any work anyways. They are only doing free advertising for Deezer, in exchange for free of charge Deezer premium. They sold their souls basically. Shilling for Deezer all day in return for perks. I would never trust a Deezer Legend.

Sure, they need feedback. What to do next. How to improve.

It’s out of our radar if our contribution here is seen useless. Instead they could ask how they can do better. Which features needed work. For me it’s not even sound Hi Fi enough if the customer gets treated like glass of wine. Consumed. I am shocked one can get this treatment. Unfortunately they do seem find meaningful to correct bad words which are already hidden with for example replacing U with V. Maybe they can next replace all explicit content on Deezer with edits and flowers :D

Or people make another campaign for BLM if they have absolutely little else to do.

Wow, so now I'm being threatened with deactivating my account. Very unprofessional behavior, gotta give it to you.

But you do know that using Deezer apps, and the forum are two seperate things? 

You basically have no right to deactivate my Deezer account.

But continue to anger customers with this threatening attitude, and you will keep loosing them.

Instead of censoring my and @hpguru posts and continuesly arguing here in the forums, why don't you guys go ahead and fix your apps? What's the point of trying to discredit and insult one of your Ex Legends, who did free work on Deezers behalf?

Regarding the Deezer Legends program. Here is what I think about Legends users:

Deezer can deactivate your COMMUNITY account if you are not following the community rules . It’s not something that deezer invented and they should do it if it happens as we all want a respectful and nice place to spend our time in  . Moreover please do not assume things you don’t know are true.

They have a right to do whatever they want.

They can cancel the bad mouth or they can get their hands on fixing the issues we are talking about.

The app is simply not ready to be app customers want.

They know it, that their app is broken, and people like me or Harmonie, LoganA etc. They all are left or leaving because you all are too keen into making ex Legend problem when the real problem is that no one is as keen into fixing an issue and fishing customers. Instead you let other firms fish it.

I am not absolutely happy with Spotify, I think they need Hi Fi very soon, but I am willing to wait.

I was a Legend and I know how limited you are to tell the opinion. Now when I am out of that mess, I can finally express myself. @Harmonie is about to leave himself, and many left already.

For example the Godfather, I was not allowed to post by you, asked me to post every bug report on Discord when Community users wouldn’t see. And believe me I posted many bugs on Discord. The now left community manager, the other one, can tell me it’s not work. But it was. I was posting content errors, bug reports etc. on Discord as Godfather asked It’s not work, then what it is? Pastime? Just 4 fun? To replace a need 4 one worker? Asking it was an awesome point as the problem could be hidden, and here just happy talking like “Enjoy Deezer!!”. Like there is no bugs. I can’t be Legends when I need to express myself in closed box. Everyone should see how buggy Deezer is and instead of canceling closing mouth, perhaps the closing mouth should cancel himself from this app. I did, and happy about it. You use too much of your time on wiping problems under the sight.

Fix it and everyone will be happy.

I just answered to that, told that yes, that’s work. You do what they ask you to do.

If Deezer tells community super users to shut the mouth, you work for them. You do not have opinion.

In the end I am glad I canceled.
