Downloads sorting change

Wow! That is a baffling decision to take. Do they appreciate how unusable the downloads section currently is?

Thank you for reaching out ​@Jaime.Deezer .This is a truly confusing decision, considering it mostly affects those of us who care enough about Deezer to pay for a subscription. As KRDC says, it makes a whole part of the app unusable. I hope they will come to rethink this decision.

I remind myself that deezer has an obligation to 19 million monthly active users and must make decisions based on the best interest of the user base at large, even if there is a smaller contingency who is inconvenienced, or even lost. The balancing act is a difficult one, as is your public-facing position, especially when decisions are made elsewhere.

So they know... and they don’t care. How infuriating !
I’ve been using Deezer for more or less 15 years, never thought about changing but this really makes me reconsider my app choices.

It should be either you delete the whole section or you make it well and usable. It doesn’t even have a search option and it’s sorted by PURE randomness, it doesn’t make any sense, at least I beg you, sort them by something that make sense wtf we must scroll for ages until we find the good album.

So they have a whole important section of their app that is garbage and it doesn’t seem to be a problem for them ?! I just don’t understand the mentality here...

Disappointing ​@Jaime.Deezer but I guess I’ll have to accept it, as I’d just signed up for another 12 months lol.  

The workaround I am using is to find my downloaded albums via Favourites/Albums - with my albums sorted by Artist. Downloaded albums show up with the green dot beside them. This is the easiest way I think other than the old way of Favourites/Downloaded music search.

On a positive note, I’m really happy that finally Deezer added the functionality available on Spotify, where your selected favourite tracks of an artist are available when you open the artist page ie. Favourite/Artist/‘In your favourites’.  eg.

This is a much welcomed improvement from my perspective.

Deezer is piss*** me off more and more: they remove this feature while we have more thab 50 playlists (they do not manage correctly downloads, they don't have an ⏰️).

The more time goes, less features we have… now only made for 💸

Bye bye Deezer.

As someone who has used the app for years and always needs downloaded music die to patchy coverage, this is a game changer for me. It renders the app virtually unusable for me for the majority of time when I use it.

I'd love to understand the logic. 

I've been with Deezer for many years now. This change means I will be cancelling my account. It simply means that I can't select anything from my music collection: I listen mostly offline and it's just not feasible to rifle through 150 albums randomly splurged onto a page every time I want to select. Such a daft decision.

I have also been a loyal Deezer subscriber for many years, and this feature change has me baffled and considering looking for a music solution elsewhere. Being able to quickly find what I want to listen to when cell service is spotty and/or I need to conserve battery life (both of which are true when I’m cycling in remote areas for extended periods of time), is important to me. That’s my happy place, and essentially the reason I pay for the service. 

My downloads used to be sorted by recently downloaded, made it really convenient to get to my latest downloads easily, losing sorting and search on downloads pretty much made the downloaded music section useless, if it wasn’t for deezer auto adding downloaded albums to the favorite albums list (which can still be sorted by recently added and doesn’t help for old favorites you’ve downloaded recentlkly) I might’ve joined the unsub squad, well that and the fact that I renew anually

Besides the random notification system, THIS is the worst feature from Deezer… 

Bring back the feature, downloads section is a mess… I have to go to Albums > sort by recently added and check the green arrows…

Cannot understand the absence of any pinned playlist either…

What about podcast sorting also...

I've been a premium subscriber for over 12 years and was also thinking of going elsewhere like the others above.

Hopefully the recently downloaded section will also make a return too?!

Why has the most  recent downloads display been removed

The sorting of the downloaded content by alphabetical order will be back tomorrow in the Android beta version and will follow in the public release 2 weeks later.

The feature is available in v8.0.33.3, which began rolling out progressively to all users on Monday. You should receive it very soon.

I downloaded the beta version a couple of weeks ago to be able to get this functionality back.

In my opinion it's not perfect though, and not as good as it was before it all went, but better than nothing at all.....

​@Greg.Deezer great to see that a sorting and search functionality has been added to the downloaded music section!

However I have noticed that the A-Z option sorts them in alphabetical order of the ALBUM name, there is no option to sort on Artist (unlike in for instance the Album section, where you can select to sort on both album or artist). Please restore this functionality to sort on ARTIST name in downloaded music as well

(And please remove the download suggestions on top, uses a huge amount of screen space, with very little additional value. Restoring last downloaded albums, as it was, is more useful)
