Deezer constantly cuts out or stops playing, why?

Why is the Deezer streaming service having such consistent issues with dropping off and just going silent or sputtering and cutting out? It’s unique to Deezer. I have a couple other music streaming platforms and they have literally never disrupted the music stream in this way. Why is this happening on the Deezer platform and not others consistently? This is a music streaming platform - having songs stop or cut out and interrupt with what seems like monster latency spikes is kind of a deal breaker with a  Premium price for streaming.

Is it new ? Do you use the beta version ? Which OS are we talking about ? Web ? desktop ? iOS/Android?

On Android  I would check a few things :

  1. Is battery optimization turned on for Deezer . If so , turned it off
  2. Clean cache on Deezer
  3. Increase cache usage percentage on Deezer app ( Via settings)

@Noam Asulin I use Windows PC and an Android cellular device currently. First off, thank you for the rapid response to my community question. However, these technical issues are not good. They indicate some poor or insufficient coding or back-end architecture - over reliance on cache and not handling cache cleanup and clearing effectively. Network errors and latencies could also be a result of poor cache handling by Deezer.

Bottom Line: The price for Deezer is identical to it’s competitors, but, the experience doesn’t stack with the streaming experience of competitors.

Again - thank you for the quick response. I truly appreciate it.

I agree with you it’s damaging the user experience however if you try that maybe it will fix it for you ‘ at least on Android .

I have to pump this up, since this still happens all the time. I moved over from Spotify to Deezer last year because I got tired of the AI songs that Spotify was constantly pushing to my playlists (and price, too). But Deezer has been awful experience from technical standpoint, constantly throwing playback error on my desktop app, and the Android app is also laggy and loads songs sometimes really long time. Done all of the recommended fixes myself, and it doesn’t help. I do feel that the fundamental systems underneath are broken or buggy. At this rate, I’m considering of giving up with these apps and just streaming free music from Youtube somehow.

Just moved to a family plan on trial from Spotify. Will absolutely not stay if the music keeps stopping with playback issues. Got it in web and then on Mac app. Not really much time on the android app as my desktop is my main zone.

It is stream management, I’m on a 100-600mbps line most of the day, so not sure its connectivity.

Feels like a weird psyops experiment to see if I notice the music stops!

Lately I have the same issue, Deezer pausing every couple of minutes for a few seconds. No such issue when I switch to Apple Music on the same devices and network.
