It would be great if you could use the Deezer connect feature to cast to different speakers like Sonos. This is something that's possible on Spotify and on Apple devices with air play. But android has no way of casting audio other than Chromecast which isn't as extensive as air play

I do agree, this would be great. But Deezer told us that this isn’t happening any time soon :(

A few years back I evaluated Deezer as an option to Spotify and my single most needed feature was something similar to Spotify Connect, especially on Sonos. (i.e. “cast” and control music playback on Sonos from the Deezer app). Now more than ever I want to move away from Spotify but as far as I understand, Deezer have still not added this feature? As a Deezer/Sonos user on Android I will have to use the Sonos app? Is that correct? With the current app-updates to Sonos this is an even worse option today than a few years back ;)

(Added Android for clarity, airplay is not an option)

Yes, you will need to use the Sonos app, and/or Sonos Voice Control if you are in a supported region.

I feel like the issues with the Sonos app we experienced last year are behind us. It is functioning smoothly for me.

To me it just not only about “issues” with the app, the app is poorly designed and lacks features. I became very aware of this recently when the Spotify Connect integration broke for several users, including me, and instead of being able to control my music using the Spotify app I was forced to use the Sonos app for many weeks. This will unfortunately be a deal breaker to me.

Spotify has finally released their HiFi service and will be rolling it out to 50 regions from now until October. With the ability to natively cast from the Spotify app to my Sonos system, unfortunately this means that once the service is available in my region, I will be switching. Deezer has had years to add this feature and has ignored it, very disappointing.

A Connect  feature certainly would be appreciated! I Airplay 1 to my KEF speakers, really the only way to stream CD quality at this time. Airplay 2 (generally) does not support lossless streaming and I am not interested in adding extra hardware to my LS60’s to work around the issues with Airplay (although at this point I hope Deezer does NOT consider Airplay 2 support). The KEF app is great for sound quality however it is sorely lacking in functionality and according to my conversations with KEF they will likely never address these issues, such as a 999 track playlist limit. So in my playlist of close to 7,000 tracks, the KEF app will only ever default (it appears) to the first 999 tracks. Most of my acquaintances use Spotify or Apple music and until now I have yet seen a need to switch away from Deezer. With Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz offering Connect features and lossless streaming, is that yet another strike against Deezer? Yes, I am happy at this point, but at what time does one consider all that other services have to offer? How will Deezer attract new users when other services are more visible in terms of offerings?

I just wanted to switch to Deezer from Spotify due to the way ai-created content is handled but the lack of being able to play on sonos for the deezer apps makes me decide otherwise, sadly enough
