To find a friend - a Deezer subscriber- I had to type-in their 10 digit “user ID” number.  Why was I unable to find them by typing-in their user name?  

(Who knows / why would anyone bother remembering their 10 digit user id?  It’s an ineffective / non intuitive way of finding a user.)

You can't find a user by their name:

  • if them has switched the own profile to private
  • if them does not listen to music on Deezer for a long time

On Desktop Deezer app you can search Deezer user by name  .

Just type name of user in search and in Profiles find right name .

I can’t find the user using username OR user ID. This should be easier. Both give no search results, and I have wasted a lot of time on this.

Hello @catchastar you can find any public profile if you type the user name in the search bar and then click on profiles.
If the profile is set to private you won’t be able to find it.

Yes, this is what I was trying and it was not working (and the profile was not set to private).

@catchastar please send me a DM with the username you re trying to follow and I will test on my side in the search bar too.
